Before you drift off tonight... 🌙💤

Did you know that hot weather can affect your sleep and your oral health?

☀️ Stay hydrated throughout the day
Dehydration can dry out the tissues in your throat and airway, increasing vibration and making snoring more likely. Drinking plenty of water also helps keep your mouth healthy and reduces dry mouth.

🛏️ Keep your bedroom cool
Close blinds during the day, open windows in the evening (when safe to do so), and swap heavy bedding for lighter alternatives to help you sleep more comfortably.

A good night’s sleep is good for your overall health—and your smile too! 😴🦷

Small changes can make a big difference to your sleep quality:

🌙 Set a consistent bedtime and wake-up routine
☀️ Let natural light in during the morning
📵 Limit screen time before bed
🛏️ Refresh your sleep environment
☕ Cut back on caffeine later in the day
🏃‍♂️ Move your body earlier, not late at night

🫁 Have you heard of the Buteyko Breathing Technique?

The Buteyko breathing technique focuses on slow, controlled nasal breathing and reducing over-breathing.

It may help support:
🌿 Better breathing habits (less mouth breathing)
😮‍💨 Reduced dry mouth
😴 Improved sleep quality
🦷 Better oral health comfort

Mouth breathing can contribute to dry mouth, bad breath, and increased risk of tooth decay — so improving breathing habits may support your smile.

During sleep, the muscles in the throat relax.
For some people, this causes the airway to narrow — reducing airflow and disturbing sleep without them even realising it.

Your body may wake you briefly to restore breathing, sometimes dozens of times per hour.

That’s why many people feel tired despite “sleeping all night”.
