Ashburton Surgery Patient Participation Group are looking for some volunteers to help test a proposed nutrition/ cookery project, learning to cook a low cost,healthy meal. We would like approx 10 patients who are available on Thursday 2nd July - 2:30pm to 4:30pm to join us to test the concept and determine if this is something that should run on a regular basis . What a lovely event today hosted by the Ashburton Surgery Patient Participation Group . Despite the rain we had representation from a number of local community organisations , councillors, League of Friends, patients, GPs and surgery staff. It was a wonderful opportunity to network with each other and for those who hadn’t already seen the improvements to have a tour of the refurbished surgery. The team also used the occasion to unveil a plaque to thank the Ashburton and Buckfastleigh League of Friends for their generosity.

Our new working space is continuing to evolve . Based on feedback from both patients and staff we are making adaptations as we go. The building contractors will be replacing one of the reception glass panels with one which incorporates a speaker, making it easier to communicate clearly. We will be changing the location of where the receptionist actually sits so that the queue flows in a more sensible and user friendly way . We will be re introducing some calming background sounds /music into the waiting room . Ongoing we would encourage feedback from our patients to ensure we are able to do our best ‘to get it right’!
