🚨 THE DIRTY DOZEN LIST ~ 2026 🚨

These are the 12 fruits and vegetables found to have the highest pesticide residues out of 47 produce items tested, with potatoes making the list this year. 🥔

Regular exposure to pesticides isn’t something we should ignore, especially when it comes to and

But with food prices soaring and organic produce often costing a fortune 💰 going fully organic isn’t realistic for everyone.

A practical approach is to prioritise buying these 12 items organic where possible. OR……grow your own 🌱

Spinach, kale, strawberries, even potatoes can be grown easily in pots, containers, or grow bags at home. 🪏

Your brain is your most valuable asset. Gong organic with the Dirty Dozen is a simple place to start when making healthier food choices. 🧠

A friend recently introduced me to this incredible salad recipe and I am obsessed 🤤 🥗

Not only is it delicious, it’s packed with protein, fibre, vitamins, and minerals…all key for supporting neurotransmitters, and stable energy 🧠

Want to make it vegan? Just skip the chicken for a high plant-protein version 🌱

It’s ready in 20 minutes, and because most of it is raw, you can prep a big batch for easy lunches all week 🙌

🌟 Getting enough protein in your diet is so important for supporting the brain and managing

Today, I am shining a spotlight on B Vitamins 🔦

Especially these 4…….B1, B6,B9,B12. These four have powerful links to brain health and

These water-soluble vitamins play essential roles in energy production, nerve signalling, neurotransmitter balance, and seizure regulation. Research has shown that deficiencies in these B vitamins may worsen seizure activity 🔬

PLUS…. Some ant-seizure medication can reduce the bodies ability to absorb and use these nutrients from our food, making them even more important to focus on ‼️

Cinnamon...you either love it or you hate it!

But, if you live with , it might be worth loving it ❤️

It’s well known for helping with blood-sugar control, which is key since blood-sugar spikes can be a trigger for some. And early research is looking at cinnamon’s compounds for potentially supporting , from reducing seizure severity to protecting neurons during events.

☕ Make your own Nut Milk chai latte
🍛 Give your curry a boost
🍰 Flavour up your low-sugar bakes

⭐Top tip: go for Ceylon cinnamon...the “true” stuff. Milder, nicer, and safer for regular long-term use.

Here’s another cupboard swap to help manage naturally. 🍚

When using food to manage seizures, it’s the small smart swaps that make all the difference. Instead of having a big bowl of high carb, low fibre, and low nutrient white rice, swap it for something that nourishes your brain 🧠

Nature is amazing. It’s designed cauliflower to look like a brain so that you don’t forget how good it is for it 🤓 This vegetable has too many brain-boosting benefits to name them all!

Ready in 3 minutes and goes really well with curries, chili con carne, and stir-fry. Let’s keep the nutrient-dense foods high and the pointless low-nutrient foods to a minimum 🙌

The ketogenic diet often gets the spotlight for epilepsy management... and for good reason. It has been researched since the 1920s and has helped many people reduce . 🧠

But isn’t always easy to follow long term. So people started looking towards the Atkins Diet. Originally designed for weight loss, it is more flexible, allows gradual increases in carbs, and is often easier to maintain.

So where does the 'MODIFIED' Atkins Diet fit in? Somewhere in the middle. It combines elements of both keto and and may help some people manage seizures without needing strict ketosis. For many, stabilising blood sugar can make a difference too.

The key is finding what works for you. Keeping a seizure diary while trying dietary changes can help identify patterns and progress.

I love a smoothie because it’s the easiest way to pack serious brain fuel into one glass first thing in the morning. Basically... an efficient way to have breakfast 🧠

When supporting epilepsy-friendly nutrition, I keep it simple:

🫐Low sugar (think berries instead of high-fructose fruits like banana or mango)

🥬Greens for magnesium + vitamins (spinach, kale, even lettuce works)

🥑Healthy fats for steady energy & fullness

💪Clean protein for amino acids that support neurotransmitter function

🍫A little raw cacao for flavour & brain-protecting goodness (and because life is better with chocolate)

It’s quick, it’s nourishing, and it sets the tone for a more balanced day.
