✨ Ever wondered what actually happens during a Reiki session? ✨

If you’ve been curious about Reiki but aren’t quite sure what to expect, you are not alone! It’s completely natural to want to know how a session unfolds before you experience it for yourself.

Reiki is a gentle, deeply relaxing, and non-invasive energy healing practice. Above all, your comfort and boundaries are my top priority.Here is a little step-by-step guide to what your session will look like:

1. The Welcome & Chat ☕
We always start with a brief, gentle consultation. We’ll sit down together to chat about how you’re feeling physically and emotionally, and discuss any specific areas you’d like to focus on.
This is also where we tailor the experience completely to you! We will discuss your exact preferences to make sure you feel entirely safe and comfortable:

*Touch preferences: Reiki can be done either with a light, gentle touch or with my hands hovering just above your body—no part of the body has to be touched if you prefer not to be. We will agree on what works best for you before we begin.

*Your environment: We’ll check in on your comfort levels, ensuring the room temperature is just right, whether you'd like an extra pillow, or if you prefer to be extra warm or a bit cooler.

*Sensory preferences: If there are certain smells or essential oils you love (or absolutely dislike!), we will make sure the space is set up exactly to your liking.

2. Getting Comfortable 🧘🏼‍♀️
For the treatment, you will lie fully clothed on a comfortable therapy bed (reiki can also be done seated in a chair). You don’t need to remove any clothing except your shoes and perhaps a coat or bulky jewelry. I’ll make sure you are cozy with pillows and a warm blanket according to your preference.

3. Settling In: Breath & Visualization 🌬️
Before the energy healing begins, I will gently guide you to connect with your breath, paired with a simple, soothing visualization. This takes just a few moments and is a wonderful way to quiet a busy mind, release the day's tension, and ease you into a beautifully relaxed and receptive state.

4. The Energy Healing ✨
Once you are feeling settled and peaceful, the Reiki healing begins. Following our pre-treatment chat, I will use a series of non-intrusive hand positions either lightly resting on or hovering just above your body (such as the head, shoulders, stomach, hands, and feet). Reiki energy flows to where it is needed most, helping to clear blocks and restore natural balance.

5. What Will You Feel? 💫
Everyone experiences Reiki differently, and there is no right or wrong way to feel! Most people enter a state of deep, peaceful relaxation. You might feel:

To lock in those blissful benefits, ease muscle soreness, and keep that "massage brain" feeling going for longer, here is your ultimate post-care checklist:

💧 Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Massage stimulates circulation and lymphatic drainage. Drinking plenty of water right after (and for the rest of the day) helps your system flush out metabolic waste and keeps muscles supple.

🌿 Embrace the Slow Down: Your nervous system has just shifted into a deep "rest and digest" state. Keep it there! Plan a quiet evening, take a gentle walk in nature, and avoid strenuous workouts or heavy lifting for 12–24 hours.

🛁 Soak in Warmth: A warm bath later in the evening is a perfect way to prolong relaxation. Add some Epsom salts to help soothe any residual muscle tenderness.
