🌿 A new chapter begins…

Training as a Forest Bathing+ Guide deepened my understanding of how nature, mindfulness and gentle connection can help us feel calmer, more grounded and more connected to ourselves. It also helped me recognise a bigger vision: to one day offer therapy and restoration in nature.

This year, I took the next step and completed a Certificate in Therapeutic Skills and Studies at the Metanoia Institute. Now I’m about to begin a three-year, part-time degree in counselling.

Alongside my studies, I’ll continue working full-time at Macmillan Cancer Support, compressing my hours so that I can dedicate one day each week to learning and developing as a therapist. It will be a busy few years, but this feels like a natural unfolding of everything I have experienced, practised and learned throughout my life.

My hope is to bring counselling, mindfulness and nature connection together - creating a safe, compassionate space where people can pause, reconnect with themselves and find their own path towards healing.

One step at a time, the vision is becoming real. 🌳

🌿There’s something about the way late summer catches the light.

I stopped to notice this reed recently — its deep burgundy seed head glowing as the sunlight passed through it.

It would have been so easy to walk straight past.

And that, for me, is at the heart of forest bathing and nature connection.

Noticing.

The colour of a plant.
The movement of grasses in the breeze.
The warmth of sunlight on your skin.
A sound you hadn’t noticed until you became still enough to hear it.

Nature is constantly changing, quietly marking the rhythm of the seasons. As summer begins its slow turn towards autumn, there are subtle signs everywhere.

We don’t always need to do more to feel connected.

Sometimes we simply need to notice what is already here.

What have you noticed in nature today?

Stay curious, stay connected. 🌿

🌿 What a lovely afternoon in King’s Wood.

Today, five wonderful people joined me for a gentle Forest Bathing session, and once again I was reminded how much can change when we simply slow down and give ourselves permission to be present.

Together we wandered, noticed, breathed, listened and shared. There were moments of quiet, curiosity and connection that reminded us the forest doesn’t ask anything of us - it simply welcomes us as we are.

Thank you to everyone who came along today. It was a privilege to spend those two hours with you.

Stay curious, stay connected 🌿

Slow down. Breathe. Notice.

When was the last time you spent two hours with nowhere to be and nothing to achieve?

Join me for a gentle Forest Bathing experience in the beautiful King's Wood, Challock on Sunday 19 July, 2:00–4:00pm.

Forest Bathing isn't about hiking or exercise. It's the practice of walking slowly, slowing down the body and immersing yourself in nature through your senses. Guided by a series of simple invitations, you'll be encouraged to notice the sights, sounds, textures, scents and atmosphere of the woodland around you.

July brings the woods to life in a different way. We may notice the warm, earthy scent of sunlit leaves, the gentle rustle of the canopy overhead, birdsong weaving through the trees, butterflies dancing through pockets of light, the intricate patterns of bark and moss, and the cool contrast of shade beneath the ancient trees. Every session is different because nature is always changing – and so are we.

Research has shown that spending mindful time in nature can help to:
🌿 Reduce stress and anxiety
🌿 Calm the nervous system
🌿 Improve mood and mental wellbeing
🌿 Increase feelings of presence and connection
🌿 Leave you feeling restored, refreshed and more grounded

No experience is needed. Just come as you are and enjoy the coolness under the tree canopy.
