With it being Volunteers' Week, it seemed only right to celebrate our wonderful volunteers and recognise the incredible difference they make as part of the Full Circle Food Project team ๐Ÿ’š

It was so lovely to welcome many of our volunteers for a home-cooked lunch, featuring produce freshly harvested from our garden (this very morning!), food that our volunteers have helped sow, plant and nurture.

So far this year, we've achieved so much together. Since April alone, our volunteers have contributed an incredible 421 hours of their time, that's the equivalent of more than 52 working days donated to supporting our projects and community ๐Ÿ™Œ

From growing food and preparing meals, to repairing bikes, supporting events, and creating welcoming spaces for others, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

We'll be sharing more of the amazing impact we've achieved together soon, so keep an eye out ๐Ÿ‘€

And if you'd like to be part of it, we'd love to hear from you! There's always room for more helping hands. Get in touch by completing our volunteer sign-up form: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/LthGXR1cvU
or emailing [email protected].

Thank you to every single volunteer... you help make Full Circle Food Project what it is ๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŒŸ Celebrating Our Amazing Volunteers ๐ŸŒŸ

This Volunteersโ€™ Week, we want to say a huge thank you to the incredible people who generously give their time, energy and enthusiasm to support our organisation.

Quite simply, we couldnโ€™t do what we do without you. ๐Ÿ’š

From nurturing our gardens and sharing cookery skills, to leading cycling activities and helping at community events, our volunteers make a real difference every day. Their passion, commitment and generosity help create the welcoming, supportive environment that makes our organisation so special.

Whether they volunteer for a few hours each month or several days a week, every contribution matters and every volunteer plays a vital role in helping us support our community.

1st of June means it's officially summer now, right?

It certainly felt like it today as we spent the day in the greenhouse potting up our summer crops. Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and aubergines have all been planted into their forever homes, and we can't wait to watch them grow before picking, tasting, and cooking with them later in the season ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿซ‘๐Ÿ†

We've also planted up some basil, nasturtiums, and marigolds to grow alongside them. Not only will they look fabulous, but they're fantastic companion plants too, helping to attract pollinators and keep pests at bay.

Just imagine the colours, flavours, and smells we'll have in there in a few weeks' time!

What's the one thing you're most looking forward to eating this summer? ๐Ÿ˜‹

What a great Plant Sale we had today! โ˜€๏ธ

It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces, as well as lots of new people stopping by to see what we're all about.

The good news is that we still have plenty of plants looking for new homes, so we'll be keeping the sale going next week while stocks last!

Pop by Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm, and browse our selection of tomatoes, aubergines, squashes, broccoli, and more.

Every purchase helps support the work of Full Circle Food Project, helping us continue to grow food, skills, and community ๐Ÿ’š

We had such a lovely time at today's herb planting activity. Armed with paint pens and plenty of imagination, everyone decorated their own plant pots before filling them with compost and a herb of their choice to take home and grow.

Now the pots have gone off to their new homes, where they'll be watered, looked after, and hopefully enjoyed for months to come ๐Ÿ˜

We also stopped by the wormery to meet the hardworking worms. They were equal parts fascinating and slightly gross ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸชฑBut we love our worm friends!

Welcome to the team, Michele Turrell!

Weโ€™re delighted to welcome Michele to the team at Full Circle Food Project as our new Cookery Coordinator. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ

Michele brings a wealth of catering experience, alongside a real passion for helping people gain confidence in the kitchen. Sheโ€™s enthusiastic about cooking from scratch, making the most of leftovers, and creating fun, engaging cooking experiences for everyone involved.

Weโ€™ve got some family cooking sessions coming up, and we canโ€™t wait for Michele to get stuck in and share her skills with our community.

If youโ€™re passing by, pop in and say hello!
