Tendacare

Tendacare We recruit, induct and train selected care staff (can be a career change or have experience) before any support is provided in our service users homes.

We provide a quality care service to people in their own home, mostly to older people but also to younger adults with disabilities, who wish to remain at home for as long as possible. Types of support may include:-

personal care and bathing,
toileting needs,
getting up or going to bed,
taking medication,
making meals, snacks and drinks,
feeling secure and safe at home,
accessing appointments,

going shopping / walking to the village/ having a coffee,
light housework and domestic tasks,

All our staff that we employ are local to the area, our recruitment processes are thorough and fair, our vision and values are made clear with high expectations from our staff to perform to the greatest level. Comprehensive assessments are conducted at the service users home before drawing up personalised plans of care respecting their requests, beliefs and choices. The preferred way in which care is delivered is balanced against the assessment of risk for each person and an offer of additional information or alternative care service is provided where at all possible. We recognise that accepting care staff into your own home is a big step to make. Consequently, the measures we take to ensure that our values and aims are acceptable to all who come into contact with us are in accordance with both current legislation and the fundamental standards set down by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) our regulatory body. To see our inspection report go to http://www.cqc.org.uk/search/services/services-in-your-home/Tendacare?/location=&sort=default&la=&distance=15&mode=html

We pride ourselves in delivering a professional service with a friendly approach from staff who care and our current testimonials can be seen at http://www.homecare.co.uk/homecare/agency.cfm/id/65432186588

Dementia changes little things that many of us take for granted.
Remembering what day it is, knowing which tablets to take, feeling confident enough to go out, or just recognising routines.
It can also change life for families, who are often quietly trying to cope and adjust to the changes of a loved one, and the constant question of whether they’re doing enough.
During Dementia Action Week, we want to recognise the people living with dementia and the families supporting them every single day.
Good care is not about rushing in and taking over. It is about patience, familiar faces, gentle reassurance, and taking time to sit and listen when someone needs comfort more than conversation.
At Tendacare, we see how much difference consistent, compassionate support can make in helping someone stay settled and comfortable in the home they know and love.
If your family is starting to think about support, even just a little, we are always happy to have a friendly chat.

“We’re not quite ready for care yet” is something we hear a lot.

And in many cases, it’s true. But often, support is most helpful when it starts earlier than people expect.

You don’t have to wait for things to become difficult. Introducing short support visits, just a few visits a week, can help prevent situations from becoming overwhelming later on.

It can also give families peace of mind, knowing someone is checking in, helping with key tasks, and keeping an eye on things.

At Tendacare, we often start with simple support like medication visits or help around the home, small tasks that start to build relationships and trust and then adjust as needs change over time.

If you’ve been wondering whether now is the right time, we’re always happy to have an informal chat and talk through what might work.

It’s been another busy week at Tendacare, and we wanted to say thank you to our team for the great care they deliver every day.

From short medication visits to long calls taking people out in the community, our carers focus on how they can make a difference to someone's day, by being on time, listening, and supporting people in a way that works for them. It is what we do best!

We’re also very grateful to the people we support and their families for the trust they place in us. We do not take this for granted.

If you or someone you know might benefit from a bit of extra support, we’re always happy to have a chat about how we can help

🌼 Spring is on its way… and brighter days are ahead 🌼

Despite all of this rain, there is a sense of hope about this time of year. The mornings are getting lighter, the birds are singing a little louder, and you can just start to feel that gentle shift in the seasons.
For many of the people we support at Tendacare, spring brings some wonderful benefits:

🌷 More natural daylight – helping lift mood and improve sleep
🌿 Opportunities to sit in the garden or by an open window
🚶‍♀️ Gentle walks and fresh air to boost wellbeing
🌸 A renewed sense of routine and purpose
☀️ Warmer days that make getting out and about that little bit easier
After the long winter months, even small changes, a bunch of daffodils on the table, a cup of tea in the sunshine, or a short stroll can make a big difference to wellbeing.

At Tendacare, we love supporting our clients to enjoy the little seasonal moments that matter. Whether it’s a trip to the garden centre, a gentle walk, or simply opening the curtains to let the sunshine in, we’re here to help make the most of brighter days ahead.

If you or a loved one would benefit from a little extra support this spring, please do get in touch.

At Tendacare, we currently have availability to support new care packages, with a particular focus on longer visits that give time for what really matters.

Our longer visits are ideal for:
🧡 Social & companionship support - conversation, reassurance, and a friendly face
🧹 Domestic support - help around the home to keep things safe and comfortable
🛍️ Shopping support - assistance getting out and about or help with errands
🚗 Accompaniment to appointments - reliable, unhurried support when it’s needed

We believe care shouldn’t feel rushed. Longer visits allow our carers to provide calm, person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

🌟 This Winter, a Friendly Face Can Make All the Difference 🌟

Supporting Older People to Stay Independent at Home
As the days get colder and the nights draw in, many older people begin to feel the impact of isolation more deeply. A simple visit, a friendly conversation, a hot meal, or help with those little day-to-day tasks can bring comfort, reassurance, and a sense of connection.

At Tendacare, our care assistants do so much more than support with personal care and medication. They bring time, companionship, and kindness into people’s homes, especially during winter, when it’s needed most.

✨ Why our visits matter

• A friendly face checking in each day
• Someone to notice if things don’t feel quite right
• Support with warmth, meals and staying safe in colder weather
• A chat, a smile, and genuine human connection
• Confidence for families that their loved one is not alone

Our team often says their job is rewarding, and full of purpose. They go home each day knowing they’ve made a difference to someone who truly appreciates their time.

✨ Considering a career change or extra hours this winter?

If you’re compassionate, reliable, and enjoy helping others, you could be the reason someone feels safe, supported, and less alone. At Tendacare, we welcome people who want to brighten someone’s day, whether you have care experience or are brand new to the role.

We offer
• Flexible hours
• Full training
• Supportive team
• Real job satisfaction

This winter, let’s make sure no one feels forgotten behind closed doors.

Whether you are looking for support for a loved one, or you’re someone who wants to give back, Tendacare is here for you.
