One of the best ways to support your baby's development is simply to respond.

When your baby coos, coo back.
When they smile, smile back.
When they look at something, look too.

These everyday moments help babies learn that they are seen, heard and understood.

You don't need special equipment, expensive toys or expert knowledge. Your attention, presence and responsiveness matter more than you might realise.

👶💬 We’re delighted to support — an annual awareness campaign led by the Brazelton Centre UK, highlighting how babies communicate from the very beginning through their expressions, movements, behaviours and relationships.
The week encourages parents, carers and practitioners to better recognise and respond to babies’ cues, helping babies feel understood, connected and emotionally safe.

As part of Baby Communication Week, AiMH UK is sharing our resource “25 Things Every Baby Would Want You to Know” — a reflective resource designed to help adults think about the world from a baby’s perspective and the importance of feeling safe, seen, understood and connected within relationships. 💛

Imagine experiencing everything for the very first time.

New sounds. New faces. New feelings. New places.

For babies, the world can be exciting, overwhelming, comforting and confusing – sometimes all at once.

When we try to see things from our baby's perspective, we're more likely to respond with patience, warmth and understanding.

The strongest connections aren't built through perfect parenting. They're built through everyday moments of trying to understand what our baby might be experiencing.
