Can you light up Leigh?

𝟭 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁 to apply to our 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆! 📣

We're looking for an artist to design and deliver a brand new section of this year's Light Up Leigh parade.

Inspired by conversations with local residents, the commission offers the opportunity to explore rich heritage, treasured traditions and more, creating a bold and unforgettable addition to the spectacular annual lantern parade.

⭐ Create one large scale "hero" parade piece
⭐ Develop smaller lanterns, props and sculptural elements
⭐ Co-create with local communities and groups
⭐ Design for an outdoor, evening parade

𝗙𝗲𝗲: £8,000 (inclusive of all artist fees, materials, production costs, expenses and VAT if applicable)

Well, I have been 'in the wars' as Mum would have said.
Unfortunately I took a tumble and have broken my wrist and forearm so will not be working for the next 6-8 weeks.

While I am making the most of the hot weather to excuse long lazy days of inner exploration and planning ahead, I'm aware that not everyone is enjoying this heatwave 🙄

It will pass. Keep cool and slow down whenever you can.

Remember that symbolically the sun represents life, vital energy, divine power, and enlightenment, its daily rising and setting signifies endless possibilities.
