Self-awareness can feel like progress. And it is. But it isn’t the same as change.

You can know exactly why you people-please and still hear yourself saying yes when you want to say no.

You can understand why you tie your worth to being productive and still feel uncomfortable the moment you stop.

You can recognise that you overthink when you don’t feel certain and still spend days looking outside yourself for the “right” answer.

Knowing the pattern matters.

But the deeper work happens in the moment the pattern appears.

When somebody is disappointed and you resist the urge to abandon yourself to make it better.

When you notice the guilt that comes with resting and allow yourself to stop anyway.

When you feel uncertain and begin listening to your own judgement instead of collecting another five opinions.

So what can you actually do when you notice the old pattern kicking in?

Create a pause before you respond.

Instead of automatically saying yes, fixing it, explaining yourself or asking somebody else what they think, stop for a moment and ask:

What am I feeling right now?
What do I actually need or want?
What would I choose if I wasn’t trying to avoid guilt, disappointment or uncertainty?

Then make one small choice that honours the answer.

That might be saying, “Let me think about it and come back to you.”

It might be closing the laptop when the work is good enough.

It might be allowing somebody to be disappointed without immediately trying to change how they feel.

Or it might simply be making the decision you already know you want to make.

That’s when knowing the pattern actually starts to change something.

For me, that’s a huge part of healing. Not endlessly analysing why you became who you are, but learning to respond differently when the old pattern shows up.

It’s also a big part of the thinking behind RESET.

Creating enough space away from the noise of everyday life to notice what you’ve been doing automatically, and begin experiencing another way.

If this is something you’d like support with, there are different ways to work with me through RESET, including 1:1 sessions and retreats. You’ll find them through the link in my bio.

🤍 Save this for the next time you catch yourself thinking, “I know why I do this… so why am I still doing it?”

If you’re looking for a retreat to escape your life, RESET probably isn’t for you.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this since so many of you found me through my RESET posts last month.

The women who have booked aren’t necessarily women whose lives are falling apart.
They’re capable women. Women who are used to holding things together, making decisions, supporting other people and getting on with life.

And that is exactly who I created RESET for.

Not to help you run away from your life for four days, but to create enough space from the noise, responsibility and constant doing to hear yourself again.

To notice what you need and what you want.
What you may have been overriding and what might need to feel different when you go home.

Due to some rooming changes I now have two private rooms available for RESET this October, and both can also be configured as twins if you’d prefer to come with someone.

RESET | Tregulland, Cornwall | 30 October–2 November 2026

ONLY ONE ROOM REMAINS FOR RESET THIS OCTOBER 🤍

And this final room is a little different.

It’s a twin room, so I’m offering it for two women to come together.

And before you read any further…

Who would you share this weekend with?

Your sister?
Your best friend?
The woman you keep saying “we really need to get away together” to?

Or perhaps someone who has been carrying a lot lately and you know could do with putting it all down for a few days too.

One of the things I’ve realised from speaking to the women who have already booked RESET is that they weren’t necessarily looking for some huge, life-changing retreat.

They were looking for space.

Space to slow down.
Space to be looked after for a change.
Space away from the constant thinking, organising, anticipating and being needed.

And importantly, they wanted something that felt nurturing and reassuring rather than intense.

One woman told me she’d looked at several retreats before choosing RESET, but there was something about this one that simply felt right for her.

And I think that’s because RESET isn’t about pushing you towards a big emotional breakthrough.

There’s no pressure to share.
Nothing is mandatory.
You don’t need to arrive knowing what you need to “work on”.

You can simply arrive as you are.

There will be beautiful food, gentle movement, breathwork, cacao, sound, time in nature, our private indoor pool and spa house — and importantly, space in between it all.

But RESET is about more than having a lovely few days away.

It’s about giving yourself enough space to notice how you’ve actually been feeling underneath all the doing.

To hear your own needs again.

To recognise what you may have been overriding or carrying for too long.

To reconnect with the part of you that can get lost when you’re constantly looking after everything and everyone else.

So that when you leave, the hope isn’t simply that you feel rested.

It’s that you go home feeling calmer, clearer and more connected to yourself.

With a little more trust in what you need.

A little more confidence in where your boundaries need to be.

And perhaps a clearer sense of what you want more of — and less of — in the life you’re going back to.

And now there is just one twin room remaining.

COME TOGETHER — £795 per person

for two women booking together

So perhaps the question isn’t “Do I need a retreat?”

Perhaps it’s…

“Who would I love to share this with?”

If someone has been in your mind while reading this, send this post to her. 🤍

Or message me RESET and I’ll send you the details.

23/08/2026

I thought what I needed from this holiday was rest.

And I did.

But actually, the thing I think I needed even more was space.

Space away from my normal routine.
Space from the constant input.
Space to think without immediately having to do something with the thought.

I've spent quite a lot of time sitting here with my laptop open, working on RESET, and I've realised how differently I think when I have some distance from everyday life.

Things I haven't been able to quite see clearly at home have started to make more sense.

I've thought about my business. About RESET and what I want it to become. About what I want the next chapter of my work to look like.

But I've also been thinking about me.

The version of me that has got me here.

What I still want to take with me.

What I don't.

And whether I'm actually allowing myself to step into the next version of who I'm becoming, or still making decisions from an identity I've already started to outgrow.

I don't think I needed somebody to give me the answers.

I think I needed enough quiet to hear my own.

And that's made me understand something about RESET even more clearly.

It's why the environment matters so much to me.

It's why I don't want every minute of a retreat filled with another workshop or activity.

And it's why I think there has to be space around the deeper work.

Because sometimes we don't need more information.

We need to get out of the noise of our own lives for long enough to notice what we already know.

What we've been ignoring.

What isn't working anymore.

What we want more of.

And maybe who we're ready to become next.

That's what I want RESET to hold.

Not simply four days of rest before going back to exactly the same life in exactly the same way.

A space to stop.

To hear yourself.

And perhaps make a different choice about what comes next.

Maybe I needed a little bit of my own RESET too x

Maybe you don’t need to escape your life. Maybe you need enough space to hear yourself inside it again.

There are lots of beautiful retreats that can give you a break from everyday life, but RESET was created for the woman who knows she needs something more than that.

The woman whose life is still functioning. She is working, caring, organising, making decisions and getting things done. Other people probably still see her as capable.

But she knows how much effort it is taking.

Her mind rarely feels properly quiet. She may be more tired, irritable or emotionally flat than she used to be. She gets some rest, feels better for a while, and then finds herself slipping back into the same pace, the same pressure and the same habit of putting herself somewhere near the bottom of the list.

I know this woman because I have been her.

After more than 20 years in demanding corporate environments, my own experience of burnout taught me that I didn't simply need another holiday or a better wellbeing routine.

I needed to understand why I kept overriding myself.

Why I found it so easy to keep going when something in me was asking me to stop.

Why I could hear everybody else's needs so clearly and temporarily lose sight of my own.

And, ultimately, I needed to rebuild the relationship I had with myself, because this is what was draining me.

That is what sits at the heart of RESET.

For four days, you get to step outside the roles, responsibilities and noise of everyday life and create enough space to hear yourself again.

To move from holding everything together to allowing yourself to be supported.

From mental noise to greater clarity.

From overriding yourself to listening and responding to yourself again.

And from constantly adapting to everything around you to becoming curious about what is actually true for you now.

There will absolutely be beautiful rooms, nourishing food, an indoor pool house, an outdoor Dutch hot tub and time when you can do very little at all.

But those things are the setting for RESET. They are not the reason it exists.

Across the retreat, we will use movement, reflection, coaching, cacao, Kintsugi Heart Alchemy™, sound, ritual and sensory experiences to create different ways of slowing down, noticing, feeling and reconnecting.

And you do not need to arrive at breaking point.

You do not need to know exactly what needs to change.

You certainly do not need to arrive ready to completely reinvent your life.

You may simply have reached the point where you know:

I don't want to keep doing things in quite the same way.

RESET is not about returning to the woman you were before life got busy, complicated or difficult.

It is about meeting the woman you are now and beginning to create a relationship with yourself that supports who you are becoming.

Do you ever spend weeks looking forward to a holiday, imagining how good it will feel to finally stop…

only to get there and realise your mind hasn’t got the memo?

I notice this myself.

We can change our surroundings in a matter of hours, but internally we can still be thinking, planning, anticipating, checking and carrying everything we were carrying before we left.

And then comes the thought:

I’m on holiday. Why can’t I just relax?

But pressure to relax is still pressure.

Sometimes the answer isn’t another technique or trying harder to switch off.

Sometimes we need less input.
Less doing.
Less deciding.
And enough space for our mind and body to catch up with the fact that we’ve actually stopped.

That’s why the three things in this post are deliberately simple.

Not another list to get right.

Just ways of helping yourself arrive where your body already is.

Save this for the next time you’ve arrived on holiday… but your mind hasn’t. 🤍

And I’m curious — do you switch off quite quickly when you go away, or does it usually take you a few days?

12/08/2026

Today’s solar eclipse has had me thinking less about what I want to call in…

and much more about what I might finally be ready to let go of.

Astrologically, this eclipse falls in the part of my own chart connected with value, self-worth, money and receiving.

And, rather inconveniently, that feels very relevant right now.

Because I’ve started noticing some of the quieter ways I negotiate against myself.

In my work, it can look like wondering whether I need to add one more thing, change something again, find another strategy or get somebody else’s opinion before I trust what I’ve already created.

In life, it can look like waiting for certainty.

Thinking everything through from every possible angle.

Understanding everybody else’s position so well that I can temporarily lose sight of my own.

Or telling myself I’m being patient when perhaps I’m actually putting part of my own life on hold.

And none of those things look particularly dramatic from the outside.

That’s what I find interesting.

We often think letting go has to mean leaving the relationship, quitting the job, changing the business or completely reinventing our lives.

But maybe sometimes what needs to go isn’t the thing itself.

Maybe it’s the way we have learnt to exist inside it.

The overgiving.

The proving.

The second-guessing.

The waiting.

The belief that if we just do a little more, become a little easier, give a little more or understand a little better, everything will eventually feel safe.

I don’t believe an eclipse makes our decisions for us.

But I do think moments like this can give us a reason to notice what has already been asking for our attention.

And perhaps this is really another lesson in the relationship we have with ourselves.

What I’m noticing in myself at the moment is this:

Perhaps I don’t need to make one enormous decision.

Perhaps I need to stop negotiating against myself.

To stop assuming that more effort automatically creates more value.

To stop making somebody else’s response the measure of whether I’ve made the right choice.

To stop believing that receiving support, money, love or opportunity has to be earned through doing even more.

So today I’m not asking:

What do I need to walk away from?

I’m asking:

What do I need to stop doing because I finally recognise my own value?

That feels like a very different question.

And maybe there’s something in it for you too.

When was the last time you took a day for yourself?

Not an hour squeezed between responsibilities.

Not time off while your mind is still planning, remembering and thinking about what everyone else needs.

A full day to step away from the noise, breathe more deeply and reconnect with yourself.

On Sunday 27th September, I’m bringing a small group of women together at beautiful Cowslip Meadows in South Leicestershire for Flourish — A Day to Come Back to Yourself.

There will be gentle movement, meditation, coaching, restorative healing experiences, nourishing food and time to enjoy the peaceful countryside setting.

You do not need to arrive with anything worked out.

You can simply come as you are, allow yourself to be supported and give yourself the day you may have been postponing.

Coming alone is warmly welcomed. Many women do.

Sunday 27th September | 10am–5pm
Cowslip Meadows, South Leicestershire

Places are intentionally limited to keep the day personal and supportive.

There are now just 2 spaces remaining for Flourish at Berry Farm, Cirencester on Sunday 5th July.

This retreat day is for the woman who has been holding a lot.

The one who keeps going.
Keeps showing up.
Keeps being capable.
Keeps saying “I’m fine.”

But underneath it all, her body is tired.
Her heart feels quiet.
And somewhere along the way, she’s lost the sound of herself.

Flourish is a day to pause.
To soften.
To let your nervous system settle.
To hear what’s been sitting underneath the noise.

A day of cacao, meditation, energy healing, gentle movement, sound, reflection, beautiful food and being held in a small, nurturing space.

Sunday 5th July
Berry Farm, near Cirencester
10am–5pm
£159 including lunch or come with a friend two spaces fro £250.
2 spaces remaining

You don’t need to come with anyone.
You don’t need to know exactly what you need.
You just need to feel the pull to give yourself one day to come back to you.

🍁 The Return to Self Retreat is here 🍁

A little glimpse of the space I’ll be holding the next weekend retreat in…

After the beautiful retreat space we created in Cornwall earlier this year, I’ve felt called to open another weekend retreat — this time at the end of October, across the powerful threshold between October and November.

A luxury restorative and transformational weekend retreat for the woman who has spent too long holding everything together…

and is ready to come back to herself.

From Friday 30 October to Monday 2 November 2026, I’ll be holding this intimate women’s retreat at Tregulland & Co a private luxury estate near Launceston, Cornwall.

Set within 16 acres of private land, with cosy fires, beautiful spaces to rest and gather, a pool and spa facilities, this is a space to retreat from the noise of everyday life and finally put yourself first — without needing to justify it.

This retreat is for the woman who looks like she’s coping, but quietly feels disconnected beneath the surface.

Sleeping, but still tired.
Achieving, but not truly fulfilled.
Grateful, but wondering where she went inside her own life.
Saying “I’m fine” because nothing is technically wrong — but something still feels missing.

Places are very limited to keep the retreat intimate and deeply held - a maximum of 12 women.

If something in you is quietly saying this is for me, I’d love you to explore the full details.

🔗 You can read more and book your place here: https://www.thezenacademy.co.uk/the-return-to-self-retreat-weekend-cornwall-october/

P lease feel free to message me if you’d like to ask anything.
