🏊‍♂️ This summer marks 19 years of teaching swimming, which feels slightly surreal to say out loud.

What started as helping out at my local club quickly turned into a real passion and something I now feel very lucky to call my job (even though it never feels like work).

Over the years I’ve worked with all ages and abilities, from young children and competitive swimmers, to adults overcoming a fear of water, and those simply wanting to improve their health.

There’s nothing better than seeing someone go from unsure to confident, learning to relax and actually enjoy being in the water.

I truly believe swimming is one of the most underrated forms of exercise out there.

In a world where “skinny” is still fashionable and women worry about looking “too muscly” from lifting weights, I sometimes catch myself overthinking posting my training, wondering if how I look might put potential clients off.
Instead of valuing how incredible it feels to be strong, capable, and building a body that supports us for life, the focus is still so often on appearance.
But I didn’t build my body to be a look. I built it to be strong. And that’s exactly how I want other women to feel too.
