This week is Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 and I didn't want to let it pass without saying something. 💛

This year's theme is Action and I think that's so important. Because awareness alone isn't enough. Real change happens when we take action, however small that action might be.

Mental health affects every single one of us. Around 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health challenge at some point in their life. That could be anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, or simply feeling like you've lost your way.

Yet so many people still struggle in silence, unsure whether what they're feeling is 'bad enough' to ask for help, or not knowing where to turn.

So this week I want to use my platform to remind you:

✅ Your mental health matters
✅ You don't have to cope alone
✅ Asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness
✅ Help is out there and for many people it can make a real difference

A lot of people think anxiety is just “feeling worried”…

But often it shows up in quieter ways .........
overthinking everything,
finding it hard to switch off,
feeling on edge without really knowing why.

It can become something you just get used to managing.

Until you pause for a moment…
and realise how exhausting that actually feels.

And how long you’ve been carrying it for.

Carrying something so much bigger than itself, one steady step at a time.

It made me think about how many people are doing the same -
holding a lot, pushing through, keeping going.

This Bank Holiday, maybe it’s a moment to pause…
to put a little of that weight down, even briefly.

A thought for the Easter weekend…

You don’t have to make the most of it.

Not every moment has to count
Not everything needs a plan
Not every day needs to be “well spent”

Some of the pressure you feel this weekend?

It’s not even yours.

It’s noise.
Expectation.
That subtle feeling you should be doing something more.

But what if you didn’t?

What if this weekend wasn’t about doing more…
but needing less?

Less pressure
Less rushing
Less trying to get it right

And just a little more space to breathe

However it looks - slow, busy, messy or quiet
