Today we recognise the thousands of Reservists who balance civilian careers with military service, giving their time and skills to support the UK’s Armed Forces at home and around the world.

Reservists make up around one sixth of our Armed Forces and play a vital role in specialist areas including medical, logistics and cyber. Their contribution is essential, yet often unseen – which is why Reserves Day exists: to acknowledge the people who step forward, train hard, and stand ready when their country needs them.

At RBVE, we’re proud to support colleagues who serve as Reservists, including offering additional paid leave for annual training. We’re so grateful for their commitment.

The Reds10 teams have done it - Meet Your Mountain 2026 is complete!

It was a challenging weekend in Chamonix, with high temperatures, long climbs and demanding terrain throughout. Representing BBMC and SBMC, Robert Lappin, Matt Moses, Anil Gurung and Che Smitherman showed real resilience. Even when the heat made the route especially tough, they supported one another, stayed steady and moved through the challenge as a team.

Their efforts - alongside teams from Reds10, Apteriors, Enlight10, Reds10 Modular and Studio FF&E - have helped raise funds so RBVE can continue creating jobs, providing homes, and building communities to support veterans and people with disabilities to live more independently.

Well done to everyone involved!

RBVE is celebrating a standout moment as four members of our community have been shortlisted at the 2026 Soldiering On Awards. Each finalist reflects a different part of who we are, and together they show the scale of impact made possible through collaboration and long‑term commitment.

This year’s recognition spans our social enterprise, our partners, our frontline teams, and our leadership.

Britain's Bravest Manufacturing Company (BBMC) has been acknowledged for demonstrating what inclusive employment can achieve at national scale.

Our partners at Barratt Redrow have been recognised for more than a decade of sustained support for veterans and their families.

RBVE David Dent MBE has been shortlisted for a lifetime dedicated to service and advocacy.

And Ian Jacklin has been celebrated for the life‑changing support he provides every day through our Lifeworks programme.

For RBVE, this moment is about the people and partnerships that drive our mission forward. We’ll be proudly championing each finalist over the coming months as the winners are announced.

As England step onto the pitch for their first World Cup match today, we’re proud to cheer on Harry Kane – England captain and RBVE’s Tommy Club Ambassador. Through The Harry Kane Company, Harry also champions our Lifeworks programme, helping unemployed veterans and military families move into work.

Harry’s support helps us shine a light on the veterans and families we work with every day, from our social enterprise factories to our Villages.

Wishing Harry and the team the very best as they kick off!

The Tommy Trek 2026 is complete – and what an unforgettable way to honour the anniversary of the D‑Day landings.

Starting at midnight on 6 June, 65 incredible trekkers took on the 20K and 40K routes through the Kent countryside, watching he sunrise over the Garden of England as they pushed through fields, villages, and woodland.

Together they’ve raised vital funds to help RBVE create jobs, provide homes, and build communities for veterans and people with disabilities.

A huge thank you to Chevron Traffic Management, Roocroft Road Restraint Systems, Highway Care Ltd, and TanRo for proudly sponsoring this year’s event and helping make it possible.

These stories come from veterans who arrived at our Veterans Village in crisis — people who had lost homes, jobs, stability, and safety after service. Our Village is home to hundreds of veterans and their families.

During our Reducing Veteran Homelessness Pilot, we found that 72% of residents who move into independent accommodation do so because they’ve secured paid work. It reinforces what we already knew: paid work is the key to independence, and it’s why our model brings jobs, homes and community together.

Every journey is different, but each one shows what’s possible when someone finally has a safe home, a supportive community, and the chance to rebuild their life on their own terms.

After losing several close family members in a single year, Patrick left the military feeling lost, unsure of his identity, and uncertain about what came next.

Joining Royal British Veterans Enterprise (RBVE)’s Lifeworks employability course became the turning point. Over four days, he rebuilt his confidence, rediscovered his strengths, and began to see a future he hadn’t thought possible.

Today, Patrick works in cyber security and trade controls within the defence and aerospace sector. His message to anyone unexpectedly transitioning out of the military is simple: it does get better.

Support from Lifeworks funders such as Army Benevolent Fund, Barclays, UK Ministry of Defence of Singapore, and Office for Veterans' Affairs, means that we can offer this training for free to veterans like Patrick.
