🧍‍♂️ Men’s Health Week: Screening Saves Lives

Men in Scotland have access to free health screening programmes — simple tests that can catch serious conditions early, when they’re easier to treat.

🩺 Here’s what’s available:

✅ Bowel Screening for men aged 50–74
📬 A home test kit is sent every 2 years
🧪 Early detection can prevent bowel cancer

✅ AAA Screening (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm) for men aged 65
📍 A one-time ultrasound scan
🕒 Takes just minutes — could save your life
📉 But here’s the thing: men are less likely than women to take part in screening — even though they’re often at higher risk.
Many men also wait longer to seek help or ignore symptoms altogether.

This Men’s Health Week, take a moment to look after yourself.
If you’re invited — go don’t wait.
