Roy Castle was a dancer, singer, comedian, actor, television presenter and musician. He presented kids' TV show record breakers for over 20 years, during which he broke nine world records.
An accomplished trumpet player and multi-instrumentalist, he appeared on various stage & TV shows.
In 1992, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. A non-smoker, he blamed his illness on passive smoking while playing the trumpet in smoky jazz clubs. He died at his home in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, on 2 September 1994, two days after his 62nd birthday.
