The International Day of Peace is on 21st September each year. In yoga, the concept or yama of Ahimsa means 'non-violence' or 'non-harm' in thought, speech or deed.
I think it is more important than ever that we embrace this in the world, as wars in several places right now are causing massive damage and trauma.
We are offering three events for people to come together in the name of peace, and these events will be donation based, and the donations will go towards charities that directly help alleviate suffering from war.
There are three events, a family yoga session with the chance to make a decoration for our peace wall and use the sensory room, a sound bath in the afternoon and a yoga and loving kindness candlelit class to calm the nervous system and focus our attention on kindness not only to self but out into the world. There will be refreshments such as hot drinks offered after the sessions. The family session will finish promptly on time to allow for the sound bath to be set up.
Booking spaces is essential so that we know numbers, it will be cash donations at the door for events.
