Let’s talk about the Myth of having dirty hair at your hair color appointment. Many of you have heard that it’s better to show up to your appointment with dirty hair to protect your hair from the harsh color....well that’s false. I’ll break it down to you. So at your next appointment you get a better color and a happier stylist.
1. Hair color has come so far with technology. It’s packed with bonders and ingredients to protect your hair. Ingredients that give shine and health.
2. If you have dirty hair...imagine everything that color has break through just to do it’s job. Build up,products,pollution and natural scalp oil. So to get the best results starting with a clean canvas will let the color do it’s job. Especially for you grey coverage girls, you want those greys covered... then wash those roots good! Also for a highlight it makes the lightener work harder on breaking through whatever is on your hair. If it could just lift then you will have a cleaner lift and brighter blonde.
3. If you work out before your appointment wash it! Nothing is worse than smelling and working with sweaty hair. So also wash your hair to be considerate. Would you like to have someone’s sweaty head in your face?
4. Lastly when it’s germ season clean that hair. When your stylist has their hands and face in that dirty hair for hour plus...your just spreading germs to them. Then getting them sick and tons of others.
5. So my advice WASH YOUR HAIR BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT!
