🌿 EATING WITH THE SEASONS 🍂
There’s something so nourishing about eating foods that naturally belong to the season we’re in.
Seasonal produce is usually fresher, full of flavour, chemical free and naturally available — and it can be a simple way to add more variety and goodness to your diet.
🍎 Better flavour & freshness
🥕 A variety of nutrients throughout the year beneficial to health
🌱 Often kinder to the environment
💷 Can be more affordable when produce is abundant
🍀 Less of a carbon imprint
🌿 Helps us reconnect with nature and the rhythm of the seasons
You don’t have to eat seasonally 100% of the time but can start by noticing what’s growing and available around you.
This is a great time for berry picking, although we are getting to the end of the season there are still a few about on the hedgerows. We will be coming into the season for squash and pumpkins which are fab for making stews.
Having the allotment has been amazing for incorporating more seasonal foods, but they are wildly available at the green grocers and local markets.
