I’ve had so many people tell me recently that they’ve tried loads of wax melts that smell amazing at first… then lose their scent really quickly, start smelling waxy, or just don’t perform.
Sometimes they might be a little cheaper, but if you’re changing them constantly or ending up not using them, they’re not really cost effective at all.
I often get asked what I do differently, and it’s actually quite hard to pinpoint because I think it’s a combination of lots of little things.
First of all… find a wax that works and stick with it.
There are so many different types of wax out there and every one behaves differently. I found the wax that works for me over 10 years ago and I’ve stuck with it ever since. I know exactly how it performs, how it holds fragrance and what results I can expect from it.
Then there’s fragrance oil.
Quality really does matter. I have a HUGE amount of fragrance oils, but every single one gets tested. Over the years I’ve learnt which fragrance companies consistently produce beautiful quality oils, and naturally I tend to stick with the ones I trust.
And then there’s my nose 😂
Maybe it’s all the years of experience or maybe I’m just naturally sensitive to scent, but I like to think I have a pretty good nose for choosing fragrances.
I’ve literally worked with thousands of fragrances over the years, so I’ve become really fussy.
I absolutely hate that fake, chemical smell some fragrances can have. I love scents that smell authentic, true to life and have different layers that you notice as they warm.

I will never scrimp on ingredients just to make something cheaper, because ultimately the quality of the ingredients affects the quality of the finished product.
