Have you noticed that what used to work for your body doesn’t seem to work quite the same anymore?

During midlife, hormonal changes can affect everything from energy levels and muscle mass to bone health and metabolism. That’s why nutrition becomes even more important.

Instead of focusing on eating less, I encourage women to focus on nourishing their bodies with the nutrients they need to feel strong, energised and supported.

Simple things like prioritising protein, eating enough fibre, including healthy fats and supporting bone health can make a real difference to how you feel now and in the years ahead.

A reminder from me to you…sleep is SO important, yet for many of us it’s often the first thing we sacrifice!

In midlife, quality sleep becomes even more important. It’s during sleep that the body repairs, hormones regulate, muscles recover and the nervous system resets. Poor sleep can impact everything from energy and mood to cravings, stress levels and overall wellbeing.

If you’re struggling with fatigue, feeling out of balance or wondering why your body isn’t responding the way it used to, sleep may be one of the missing pieces of the puzzle.

This is something I explore in more detail in my book, Your Health Is Your Wealth, alongside practical ways to support your hormones, energy and long-term health.

I’ve been feeling pretty overwhelmed lately…from planning the new summer schedule to constant road closures making everything take longer than it should. When I read recent newsletter about stress and nervous system regulation, it really resonated with me.

Her words reminded me that so many of us are navigating busy lives, full plates and nervous systems that are operating on overdrive. And it’s showing up in the way we move, breathe and show up to class.

More and more, people aren’t just looking for exercise. They’re looking for calm… for better sleep… for less stress… for a space to feel restored rather than depleted.

This has made me reflect on how much simple nervous system tools can elevate the experience of a class, things like breathwork, transitions, grounding cues and allowing pauses. Small changes that help shift the body out of “go, go, go” and into a steadier, more regulated place.

It’s a good reminder for me too. When life feels busy or overwhelming, slowing down and breathing properly isn’t optional, it’s essential!
