A Positive Experience with Patrick - Supporting my knees before visiting Peru
This was not the first time I had consulted Patrick. On all my previous visits, the results had been surprisingly good, which is why I keep going back to him.
I consulted Patrick about four weeks before my trip to Peru to visit Machu Picchu. I knew the trip would involve walking over rough and uneven surfaces, as well as going up and down stairs. Both activities concerned me, as my knees were weaker than I would have liked. They were prone to aching and often made noises.
Patrick said he believed he could help get my knees into the best possible condition for the trip.
After three visits to Patrick, my knees were in the best condition they had been for several years, and I was pain-free. I have found that it is essential to follow Patrick’s advice regarding post-visit care.
Before visiting Machu Picchu, I visited an Inca fort, which gave my knees a good test. There were 400 steps to climb, followed by a further walk. The descent was harder on my knees than the ascent, but everything was fine afterwards.
I then travelled on to Machu Picchu. Although we went by train rather than hiking there, the walk around the Inca ruins was, at times, quite demanding. We completed two circuits: one involved climbing to obtain good views, while the other took us through the centre of the site itself. After both visits, my knees remained pain-free.
