Vision Acutherapy® is a specialist acupuncture programme supporting people with vision loss and complex eye conditions.

This is an (inter)national specialist clinic, with clients travelling from across the UK and internationally to North Devon for 1- to 2-week intensive treatment blocks that combines specialist acupuncture and TCM with highly focused clinical care. Now also incorporating PEMF treatment (Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Field Therapy) and Light Therapy.

The programme is exclusively delivered by Dr Alison Savory, PhD; the only Advanced MA48 Vision Acupuncture specialist in Europe, trained by Dr Andy Rosenfarb (USA) in the MA48 Vision Acupuncture system, within an award-winning acupuncture clinic.

Holistic Vision Clinic for people with genetic and degenerative vision loss, using Vision Acutherapy including ACUPUNCTURE and MA48.

I am based in North Devon and welcome Stargardt’s patients from all over UK & Europe – who visit for 1-2 weeks at a time.

I want to share with you some feedback from a young woman I recently worked with. I deeply appreciate her sharing this with me so I can share with you and I hope inpire you to consider treatment.

“I have Stargardts, a genetic eye condition which is a form of macular degeneration. I have severe central vision loss.

I started to notice changes in my vision by day four, colours started to pop, I saw better contrast and I noticed things in the clinic I did not see before.

I noticed improvements in my peripheral vision and reduced flickering in my eyes.

This continued as the sessions went on, in my little bubble of vision things and people looked more defined and colourful.

These acupuncture sessions are not only slowing down the deterioration of my vision they are steadily improving it and as someone with a rare genetic eye disease that is degenerative these changes in my vision are not something I take for granted as any little improvement is life changing.

It is obvious that Alison is passionate about what she does, she is very professional, warm and extremely knowledgeable. I always felt comfortable during the sessions.

I would recommend the Vision Acutherapy programme to anyone considering it. Acupuncture is a holistic treatment therefore, you may notice improvements in other areas of your health along with vision and Alison does a wonderful job of explaining things.

Pegcetacoplan, first new drug for DRY AMD (age-related macular degeneration). Not yet approved for use in NHS but getting closer! Definitely one to watch.

Pegcetacoplan tackles dry age-related macular degeneration, or dry AMD, which affects more than 500,000 Britons and causes a quarter of severe sight- loss cases in the UK.

Part of my skill is taking "western" terminology and information from scans etc and translating that into "eastern" medical terminology that then builds into your unique diagnosis and then treatment plan.

In Chinese Medicine terms, Drusen is akin to Phlegm (hardening fluids) and I have specific treatment approaches for this including acupuncture, light therapy, dietary and lifestyle advice and herbal medicine.

When there is an increase in the size or number of macular drusen a person's risk of developing either advanced dry AMD or wet AMD increases.
