I’ll try and keep this short!
As many of you already know, Black Rose Tattoo will be closing its doors for good at the end of September.

It’s been an amazing 8 years and I’m saying goodbye feeling super thankful and happy to have had this experience but it’s time for new things and to really focus on what I love doing, which is making tattoos, without all the stress that comes with running a business.
Thank you to everyone who got tattooed, bought merch, came to a flash day, recommended us to friends… You’ve all been so supportive and lovely and I’m so grateful to every single one of you!
I also feel incredibly lucky to have worked alongside some very talented people, and I’m very thankful to everybody, residents and guests.
I will be making the move to London before the end of this year and hope to see some of you at my new home, but for those of you who can’t travel I’ll be back in the south west for regular guest spots.
We’re still open for another few weeks so feel free to pop by during our (now quite sporadic) opening hours, and Joe still has a bit of space for tattoos before we close!

Such a great response to our post about walk ins, thanks for tagging and sharing, look forward to seeing you all in April!

We do still have some spaces in March and in case there was ever any confusion, our diaries are always open. You can book an appointment any time and we always have spaces available during the week for smaller tattoos, there’s never a very long wait and we always have designs available to choose from. Just message us!

We’re scrapping our appointment-only policy this spring and allowing walk ins for a limited time. We’ll have flash books...

We’re scrapping our appointment-only policy this spring and allowing walk ins for a limited time. We’ll have flash books out for you to choose from, or you can bring your ideas in. It’s still best to message first but we’ll have much more availability from April for those last minute tattoos and the door will be open to discuss future bookings too. ✌🏻

Welcome to Black Rose!

Custom tattooing and body piercing, located on Mermaid Walk, Barnstaple.

We are a friendly, professional and experienced female-run studio.

Resident tattoo artists Gem Carter, Jaz Carr and Steph Sones cover a range of styles but mainly specialise in traditional, neo-traditional, illustrative and watercolour work. Guest artists from around the UK also work at the shop occasionally, keep an eye on our page for announcements.
