As therapists, healers, coaches and space holders, many of us were taught that our value comes from how much we can give.

But here’s what I’ve learnt…

You cannot pour from an empty cup.

If you’re constantly trying to rescue everyone, fix everyone or carry everyone else’s pain, eventually you’ll lose connection with yourself.

The most powerful thing you can offer another human isn’t advice. It isn’t having all the answers.

It’s your presence.

Listening to understand…
Not always listening to respond.

Holding space…
Without needing to solve.

Sometimes the greatest act of love is trusting that someone else’s journey belongs to them.

Let go of the hero complex.

Your job isn’t to save people.
Your job is to create a space where they feel safe enough to reconnect with themselves.

When you protect your own energy, honour your own boundaries and fill your own cup first…

You don’t become less helpful.
You become infinitely more impactful.

Because healing isn’t something we do to people.
It’s something we hold space for.
