Who is guilty of over thinking and having a sprinkle of rumination?! 🙋‍♀️

🧠 Your brain is constantly collecting evidence about what feels safe—and what doesn’t.

When you repeatedly check a symptom, avoid something because you’re afraid of how your body might react, or put your life on hold until you feel better, your brain takes notice. It can interpret those behaviors as proof that there must be something to fear.

But your brain notices the opposite, too.

Going for the walk. Making the plans. Feeling a sensation and continuing with your day instead of reacting to it.

Every time you do those things, you give your brain new evidence:

“Maybe I’m okay. Maybe I can handle this, Maybe going for that walk isn’t going to be as bad as I THINK it will be?. Maybe I am in control of this!

✅ Cervical Radiculopathy ( located at the neck and giving nerve symptoms down the arm and back of shoulder)
✅ Nerve Root Irritation - Lumbar Spine (nerve root, where the nerve exits the spine)

☀️ Heatwave alert! Stay safe while enjoying the sunshine.

Pearl has done a great blog on the risks and benefits of staying safe in the sun!

Some quick tips below! 👇🏻

💧 Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water.
🧢 Wear a hat, sunglasses, and lightweight clothing.
🧴 Apply SPF 30+ sunscreen and reapply every 2 hours.
🌳 Seek shade, especially between 11am–3pm.
🚶 Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
👶 Keep an eye on children, older adults, and vulnerable people.
🚗 Never leave anyone or pets in a parked car.

With all healing it takes Time…. (Annoying right, as we are usually so impatient) 😵‍💫

However, when we get stuck in a cycle of fixation on symptoms and getting in our own way, expanding your life around the injury or pain can be of great help.

We like to help our patients get back to what they love doing, for example, by creating a tool kit of handy exercises to fit around your life. Above all, instilling the confidence in you that you are robust and will come out the other side bigger and stronger 💪🏻
