Welcome back – and a gentle September reset 🍂
September always has a slightly strange “back to school” feeling about it, even when it's been many years since we actually had to go back to school!
If your normal routine disappeared over the summer, you're certainly not alone. Holidays, visitors, family and simply doing something different for a few weeks can mean our regular practices quietly fall by the wayside.
So, first of all, our weekly Infinite Harmony classes are all up and running again. Here's a link to the timetable > https://rpb.li/xE9vh0
There are Yoga for Everyone classes alongside Adaptive and Chair Yoga, so you can choose what works for your body, energy and what you need right now.
And if you haven't been for a while, please don't worry about “coming back”. You don't need to catch up, get fitter first or explain where you've been. Just book yourself in and come along – it will be lovely to see you.
🌿 September Reset & Yoga Therapy
September can also be a good time to take stock of your wellbeing more generally.
Perhaps you're dealing with persistent pain or stiffness, fatigue, poor sleep, stress or anxiety, changes in mobility or a long-term health condition – or you simply know that something doesn't feel quite right and you're not sure what would help.
Throughout September I'm particularly encouraging people to discover Yoga Therapy. Unlike a general yoga class, Yoga Therapy starts with *you* and uses movement, breath, relaxation and other therapeutic yoga practices in a way that's individual to your needs.
If you're not sure where to begin, you can request a Wellbeing Review, where we'll talk about what's happening and explore what sort of support might be useful. Here's a link to reserve your slot > https://rpb.li/q42E
And if you're wondering what Yoga Therapy actually is, I've also written an article explaining Yoga vs Yoga Therapy – what's the difference and which one is right for you? Here's a link to the article > https://rpb.li/KOJI
💤 Yoga Nidra – Sunday 20 September, 7pm
Our next Yoga Nidra Evening is also coming up this month. It's an opportunity to properly stop, get comfortable and spend a couple of hours doing very little indeed. Click here to book your space > https://rpb.li/4ih
If you've never experienced Yoga Nidra and aren't sure what to expect, there's an introduction to Yoga Nidra on my blog too.
🧠 And finally… a little Yoga for the Brain
My latest article explores yoga, movement and brain health – including coordination, memory, neuroplasticity and some of those apparently simple “brain yoga” exercises that regularly result in a room full of adults staring accusingly at their own fingers.
There are some interesting possibilities in the research – although sadly ten minutes of finger tapping isn't a magic defence against dementia! Here's a link to the article > https://rpb.li/s16S2
So there is lots happening at Infinite Harmony this September. Whether you're coming back to your regular class, looking for more individual support, joining me for Yoga Nidra or just having a read, you're very welcome.
