About Us

J&K Care Specialists is a friendly, reliable and flexible 24 hour Care Agency that has been providing a high standard of service to people for the last 20 years. Our service users are those whom, because of increasing age or disability, find it difficult to cope with domestic responsibilities and their own personal care needs, whether it is within their own home or within a residential s

etting. We also provide specialised, palliative care to people nearing the end of their lives. J & K cares about delivering the very highest quality of service and we extend this service to support families and friends, as we are aware that it is not always just the service user who needs support. All of our staff go through stringent Enhanced Criminal Record checks with the Department of Health to ensure that each carer is suitable to work with children and vulnerable adults. We pride ourselves on our quality of staff and it is because of their dedication and hard work, that J & K has built such a good reputation as a care provider over the years.

🌟 1:1 Support Worker – 32 Hours Per Week 🌟

Could you be the person who makes a real difference?

We are looking for a caring, confident and compassionate Support Worker to provide dedicated 1:1 support to an individual with complex support needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships, providing consistent support and helping someone to have the best possible quality of life.

💙 This isn’t just a job — it’s about getting to know the person, understanding how they communicate and becoming a familiar, trusted face.

🕐 Hours of work

Monday: 08:00 – 18:00
Tuesday: 08:00 – 19:00
Wednesday: 08:00 – 19:00

32 hours per week, this would be the only care package you would be in to ensure the wellness and wellbeing of the young man is protected to the best of our ability.

From time to time, additional support may be required, so some flexibility around working hours would be desirable.

🧩 About the role

You will be providing 1:1 support, working closely with the individual and their family to provide safe, consistent and person-centred care.

The individual has complex communication needs, so you’ll need to be someone who is patient, observant and able to understand that communication isn’t always about words.

You’ll become familiar with their routines, preferences, communication style and individual ways of expressing themselves.

💙 We’re looking for someone who has:

Previous experience working in health or social care
A good understanding of learning disabilities
Experience or knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care
Experience supporting non-verbal individuals
An understanding of dysphasia and communication difficulties
Excellent spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with the individual, family and wider care team
A calm, patient and reassuring approach
Good observation skills and the ability to recognise changes in presentation or wellbeing
The ability to follow care plans, risk assessments and agreed support strategies
A genuine commitment to promoting dignity, choice, independence and quality of life
⭐ The person we’re looking for…

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, consistent and approachable.

Someone who understands that building trust takes time.

Someone who can communicate confidently, listen carefully and recognise when something isn’t quite right — even when the person they’re supporting may not be able to tell you themselves.

And, importantly, someone who can bring kindness, warmth and a little humour to the day. 😊

🗣️ Communication is key

Because of the individual’s communication needs, excellent English communication skills are an essential part of this role.

You will need to be able to communicate clearly and naturally with the individual and their family, understand and follow detailed care information, and accurately record and communicate important changes or concerns.

Consistency is particularly important, so we’re looking for someone who can become a familiar and trusted member of the individual’s support team.

🌟 What you’ll get from us

You’ll be joining a team where your contribution really matters.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop a strong working relationship with the individual, work alongside their existing support network and make a meaningful difference to their everyday life.

If you’re experienced, compassionate, dependable and think “this sounds like me”, we’d love to hear from you.

Just a little work update ❤️

04/07/2026

Good morning all,

It’s been a little while since we used our page to give updates but here we are!!

So where are we at?!

Well J&K are experiencing an extremely busy period to say the least 😅 but we are getting there!

We have sadly said our fair wells and seen out our first week since our senior coordinator Chloe left us, many have asked why Chloe decided to leave and where has she gone? Well Chloe decided that she needed some downtime and time with her son before deciding what’s next! We wish her well.
We did have a very busy week but we together got through it 💪

Over the course of the last 2 weeks myself and Kate have been interviewing candidates for our care coordinator role, we are yet to decide who may get this position but we shall update once we have made our final decision. We do have 1 more interview tomorrow 🤞

We have seen Keeleigh be promoted to senior and she’s had a fantastic first week in her new role - well done 👏

What’s next?!

New care coordinator go be appointed and trained up.

Then to get through the very busy 6 weeks school holidays where we will have a reduced staff ratio - please bear with us over this time.

If you pop in, please be patient we will get to you as soon as we can. 👌

We will continue to operate and ensure our clients needs are met at all times, we just may run on extra caffeine, sugar and chocolate 🍫 to see us through 😂

The J&K team would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year.

J&K have been hit with one of the most challenging years in a very long time, but we are very proud to say that it has made us better and stronger.

We would like to take this time to thank every single staff member who has helped us out at extremely short notice, but we would also like to thank every single one of our clients who have been so understanding of short notice changes. We pride ourselves in the care we continue to deliver to our clients.

A big thank you to all those who are working Christmas Day to ensure our clients are still having the support they need!

Claire, our registered manager would also like to give her personal thank you to everyone at J&K for their time, hard work, determination and endless commitment to our clients.
Being a manager in such hard times isn’t for the faint hearted but we have pulled through as a team!

Once again, we hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a very happy new year! See you all ready for 2026! 🎅🎇
