The challenge is the best or right advice for YOU isn't the stuff that catches your attention, it's the midlife nutrition advice that actually fits with your priorities, needs, wants and life in general. πŸ’š

Somewhere in all this menopause nutrition advice we're losing nuance and dare I say it.... Common sense.

Just for reassurance, I was not paid by any potatoes, crispbreads or pasta spirals to create this post.

I've just seen countless women in clinics, afraid of carbs with lots of gremlins circulating in their heads.

They're confused and second guessing their food choices at every turn.

Carbs have their place, nestled around the rest of the food groups for balance and all the nourishment our busy bodies require.

We're coping with a lot, let's not throw hunger, denial and guilt into the mix.

Let's seek to understand what our body truly needs.

Work with it, not against it. Believe it or not, it is trying to be on your team!

The whole '2 squares of dark chocolate' thing has got to go!

Chocolate is there to be enjoyed in whatever form, as part of a balanced diet.

Me, I'm a Cadbury's girl through and through.

We don't need to fear the chocolate aisle, but we do need to figure out how to have a happy relationship with it, without guilt or shame.

If it was really down to you needing to be more 'good' you'd be done by now.

I promise you, it's not you. Midlife is a time to change perspectives and experience life on the other side of yet another 'plan'

And yes it can still be about health, but happiness is a form of health too.
