922.25 hours 🎉

That’s the amazing amount of time our volunteers have given to ReMind UK over the last year, helping us support people, care for our gardens, provide office support, raise awareness and attend community events.

Throughout Volunteers' Week, we're celebrating the people behind those hours and saying thank you for everything they do. It truly makes such a difference 💜

It's Volunteers Week! 🎉

This week we're celebrating and saying thank you to all our wonderful volunteers!

To begin, we wanted to share this message from our CEO, Melissa Hillier:

"A huge thank you to everyone who so generously gives their free time to support ReMind UK. We are so fortunate to have a whole range of lovely volunteers who skills range from gardening and admin to giving talks and helping to raise the profile of the charity at community events. Through our volunteers we can reach more people to tell them about the research, services and support that we provide - we couldn’t do what we do without them, so thank you very much and here’s to another fabulous year of volunteering."💜

"When Jenny started forgetting things, I noticed straight away because she was always the reliable one.”

For Michael and Jenny, the early signs of dementia appeared years before her diagnosis. Like many families, they were left navigating uncertainty and change.

After joining our Chat, Make and Move 10-week wellbeing course, they found support, understanding and connection.

Meeting others in similar situations became one of the most valuable parts of the experience. “We got to know a few of the couples really well and it was just really nice to be around people who felt like friends.”

This Dementia Action Week, we’re highlighting the importance of post-diagnosis support and helping people live well with dementia -https://www.reminduk.org/get-support/

We all forget things from time to time but when memory changes begin to affect daily life, it’s important not to ignore the signs.

Today, during Dementia Action Week, we're looking at the importance of early diagnosis and how it can help people access treatments, support, financial benefits, community activities and even clinical trials that may improve quality of life and independence for longer.
