Health & Menopause Related

Our service focuses on delivering 360-degree customised and compassionate care for women aged 40-65. Alexis believes that midlife & menopause can be a powerful pivot, a chance to redefine, reinvent and embrace this new life stage.

“We don’t have to accept feeling rubbish and a slow decline into old-age. Our best years are yet to come. By taking control now, and tackling underlying imbalances and health issues head-on, we can reap the rewards as we go.”

Our approach is rooted in functional medicine. We aim to find the true underlying causes of each clients’ health concerns and then create personalised action steps to tackle them. Recommendations are completely unique to each client and may include diet and lifestyle changes and targeted supplements and functional testing where appropriate. Where we stand apart is in listening deeply to each client’s health story to understand their unique needs. We then give clients the knowledge and confidence to really understand and change their health for the better. Alexis has over 12 years of experience as a BANT Registered functional nutritional therapist and is an advocate for female health. She trained at the Institute for Functional Medicine and holds a DipION, FdSc as well as being a certified Health Coach with the Health Coach Institute. Our Areas Of Clinical Focus

I started the Glow Collective at the start of March as I saw the need for a more exclusive, private and supportive place for women over 40 who are passionate about their health to come together online in a non-judgemental, supportive environment.

Public forums and groups can be a bit brutal and I think this prevents many women being able to freely share their midlife concerns, experiences and things they’re excited about.

In the last month we’ve already been chatting about a wide range of topics from olive oils with the highest polyphenol content, hay fever, creatine, how to stop reaching for unhealthy snacks and sharing recipes.

And whilst it’s very early days, it’s been lovely to see respectful advice and chats going on between ladies who haven’t yet met, but have a shared vision of what they want from their health.

So, if you’re looking for something like this, I’m now opening up the group to new members. It’s free to join and you simply need to DM me and I’ll personally send you the link you need.

A very quick delicious lunch from the last ingredients in the fridge before the big shop

I always have fresh herbs on hand to whizz up a pesto and it’s so much nicer than shop bought.

So with …..

- a small onion
- a green pepper
- 1 bag each of parsley and coriander
- a lemon
- some pinenuts (optional)
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tin of green lentils
- and extra virgin olive oil

….. it’s possible to create a speedy healthy lunch that has decent protein (I would normally have 3 eggs), fibre rich (lentils and pulses also contain protein), satiating fats and lots of magnesium rich greens.

Save for later! (which is what I’ll do with the washing up!)

A simple half hour walk can do more than just stretch your legs . Here are some of my favourite things about morning walks:

✨ Freedom in your body – joints moving, muscles warming, heart rate gently rising.

✨ Deeper breathing – energising your whole system.

✨ Connection with nature – noticing the trees, birds, seasonal changes (and maybe even blackberries or apples for crumble)

✨ A mood lift – fresh air, light, and that “never regret a walk” feeling.

✨ Memories & joy – smells, sights, and even a little nostalgia (conkers, anyone?).

✨ Community – bumping into neighbours and having a chat, or just watching our dogs play.

✨ Bonding – with your furry friend, or simply with yourself.

✨ Mind space – time to plan your day, reflect, or just let thoughts drift.

✨ Morning light reset – helping your circadian rhythm, energy, and sleep. It’s important to get full-spectrum natural light in the morning

💛 For women over 40, these small daily moments are powerful tools for hormone balance, energy, and emotional wellbeing.

And it doesn’t have to be 30 minutes! Even 10-15 minutes can be enough!

DM me if I’ve missed anything, or to ask a question about how diet and lifestyle can have a positive impact on your hormone balance.

A quick reminder!

Here’s how we do pasta in The Prior household. Our bowl is focussed on protein and veggies with a smaller portion of pasta.
