We're incredibly excited to announce that Dr Kay McAllister, Consultant in Sexual & Reproductive Health, will be joining New Kirk Clinic to provide specialist clinics.

Dr McAllister is a highly respected expert in women's health and menopause care. She has played a key role in developing menopause services across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, helping to improve access to specialist advice for GPs and primary care teams, and has contributed to regional menopause guidance and national clinical guidance in sexual and reproductive healthcare.

At New Kirk Clinic, Dr McAllister will be offering:

Dr Paterson brings extensive experience in 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗿𝘆, 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, alongside specialist expertise in forensic psychiatry and medico-legal work.

One of the key services Dr Paterson will be offering at New Kirk Clinic is 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗔𝗗𝗛𝗗 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Her areas of expertise include:

• Adult ADHD and neurodiversity assessments
• Autism assessment, with a particular focus on complex presentations
• General psychiatric assessment
• Mood disorders
• Eating disorders
• Complex trauma and trauma-informed assessment
• Psychotic disorders
• Personality disorder assessment using the updated ICD-11 framework
• Women’s mental health
• The interface between neurodiversity and mental illness
• Capacity and fitness-to-work assessments
• Medicolegal reports for courts and tribunals

Dr Paterson graduated in Medicine from the University of Dundee and has been practising as a 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬. She is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and also holds a Master of Laws in Healthcare Law and Ethics.

Alongside her clinical work, she was awarded a 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, working with the Chief Medical Officer for Scotland and Healthcare Improvement Scotland on the development of 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘔𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦.

We are incredibly pleased to be able to bring this level of specialist psychiatric expertise to patients at 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰, 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗲𝗻.
