Impetigo can spread before you realise it.
It’s a common and highly contagious skin infection, particularly among young children, which is why it can quickly make its way through families, nurseries and schools.
To help reduce the spread:
• Wash hands regularly
• Avoid touching or scratching affected areas
• Don’t share towels, flannels or bedding
• Wash clothing and bedding that may have been in contact with the infection
• Keep affected areas clean and follow treatment advice
If you think your child may have impetigo, don’t wait for it to spread.
Impetigo is one of the conditions that may be treated through NHS Pharmacy First. Speak to our team at The Pharmacy Bebington to find out if the service is suitable.
