A massive thank you to everyone who made time for themselves and rolled out their mats during half term!
I know how hectic the holidays can be—whether you were juggling family schedules, working, or just trying to find a routine. Dedicating an hour to your practice is a beautiful act of self-care, and the energy in the room was absolutely wonderful.
Why We Rested with Our "Legs Up the Wall"
You might remember how we ended our practice: lying flat on our backs with our legs resting straight up against the wall. It might look like a simple rest, but it is actually a powerhouse of a yoga pose!
Here is why this gentle inversion feels so magical:
Instantly Calms the Nervous System: By shifting your body into a state of deep rest, this pose tells your brain it is safe to relax. It lowers your heart rate and is an incredible antidote to stress and anxiety.
Boosts Circulation & Relieves Tired Legs: Gravity does the hard work for you here! It coaxes pooled fluid away from your ankles and feet, improving lymphatic flow and giving tired, overworked legs a deep sense of relief.
Gentle on the Heart: Because your legs are elevated, your heart doesn’t have to pump as hard to circulate blood, allowing your cardiovascular system a well-deserved break.
Improves Digestion & Sleep: Spending just 5 to 10 minutes in this pose before bed can soothe your mind, ease tension in the lower back, and set you up for a deeply restorative night's sleep.
Thank you all again for sharing your space and energy with me. Enjoy that post-yoga glow, take it easy this week, and I can't wait to see you all back on the mat soon!
