🎉It’s our birthday🎉

Today marks one year since we opened the doors to our new clinic, and what an incredible journey it has been.

We'd like to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has made this milestone possible.

To the amazing people of Luton, thank you for trusting us with your recovery, rehabilitation, performance, and wellbeing. Your support, recommendations, and continued belief in what we do have helped us grow beyond what we could have imagined.

To our family, friends, builders, suppliers, and everyone who played a part in bringing our vision to life, thank you for your hard work, encouragement, and support throughout this journey.

Over the past year, we've had the privilege of helping so many people move better, recover stronger, and achieve their goals. Seeing our clients return to the activities and sports they love is why we do what we do.

We're incredibly proud of what we've built together and excited for what the future holds. Here's to many more years of supporting our community's health, recovery, and performance.

Thank you for being part of our story. ❤️

INSOLES & TRAINING SURFACES 👣🏃
Different surfaces place different demands on your feet, joints, muscles, and tendons. The right insole isn't just about comfort—it can help manage load, improve stability, and reduce injury risk.

🛣️ Concrete & Asphalt
High-impact surfaces increase stress on bones and joints.
**Insole focus:** Shock absorption, heel cushioning, pressure redistribution, and arch support.

🌱 Grass Fields
Softer underfoot but often less predictable.
**Insole focus:** Stability and arch support to help control excessive foot movement.

🏃 Synthetic Tracks
Designed for energy return and repetitive running.
**Insole focus:** Lightweight support and energy-return materials that don't interfere with natural movement.

🌲 Trails & Uneven Terrain
Variable surfaces demand greater balance and foot control.
**Insole focus:** Stability, deep heel cups, and enhanced proprioceptive feedback.

⚽ Artificial Turf
Higher traction can increase rotational forces through the foot and lower limb.
**Insole focus:** Forefoot cushioning, pressure redistribution, and stability support.

How Insoles May Help

Research suggests foot orthoses can:
✅ Reduce peak plantar pressures
✅ Improve force distribution
✅ Modify lower-limb biomechanics
✅ Reduce stress on vulnerable tissues
✅ Improve comfort during training
✅ Lower the risk of some overuse injuries and stress fractures

Important Reminder
Insoles are only one part of the injury-prevention picture.

The strongest evidence still supports:
✔ Progressive training loads
✔ Appropriate footwear
✔ Strength and conditioning
✔ Recovery and mobility work
✔ Individualised orthotic intervention when required

Key Takeaway
There is no single "best" insole.
The most effective insole is the one that matches:
👣 Your foot mechanics
🏃 Your sport and training volume
🌍 The surface you train on most often

Different grounds. Different demands. Better support.

ACHILLES TENDINITIS — DON’T IGNORE THE WARNING SIGNS 👣

Achilles tendinitis is a common overuse injury affecting runners, athletes and active individuals. Left untreated, it can progress into long-term pain and reduced performance.

Common signs & symptoms include:
• Pain or stiffness at the back of the heel
• Discomfort during walking, running or exercise
• Morning stiffness in the tendon
• Swelling or tenderness around the Achilles
• Pain that worsens after activity

At our clinic, our Sports Therapists focus on identifying the root cause of the issue — not just treating the symptoms.

Treatment may include:
✔️ Injury assessment & rehabilitation planning
✔️ Hands-on therapy & soft tissue treatment
✔️ Strengthening & mobility programmes
✔️ Load management & return-to-sport guidance
✔️ Recovery support including cryotherapy

Early intervention is key to preventing further injury and supporting a safe return to performance.

If you’re struggling with Achilles pain, our team is here to help.

Shoulder pain when lifting your arm, reaching overhead, or even sleeping on one side could be a sign of shoulder impingement.

Shoulder impingement occurs when the tendons and soft tissues within the shoulder become compressed during movement, often leading to pain, weakness, and restricted mobility.

Common symptoms include:
• Pain when lifting the arm overhead
• Weakness in the shoulder
• Discomfort when sleeping on the affected side
• Sharp pain during certain movements
• Reduced range of motion

Ignoring these symptoms can lead to ongoing irritation and further dysfunction over time.

A Sports Therapist can help by:
✔ Assessing the root cause of the problem
✔ Reducing pain and inflammation
✔ Improving shoulder mobility and strength
✔ Correcting movement patterns and posture
✔ Creating a personalised rehabilitation plan to support long-term recovery

Early treatment and targeted rehabilitation can make a significant difference in recovery and help you return to training, work, and daily activities with confidence.

If you’re struggling with shoulder pain, don’t ignore it — get it assessed early.
