There's something about this point in August that makes me want to get organised. 🌿

Yesterday was spent clearing out drawers, reshuffling cupboards and generally getting the house back in order — ready to slide back into some kind of regular routine again.

The schools are back, the early nights are creeping back in and, after the looseness of summer, we're suddenly back to juggling work, school, meals, exercise, appointments... all of the things.

But we're not quite into autumn yet.

And I think this little in-between window is actually the perfect time to gently find our rhythm again — before the daylight lessens, the weather shifts and staying cosy on the couch becomes much more tempting. 🍂

Not a huge Monday morning overhaul. Not ten new habits and a completely new version of yourself by next week.

Just the routines that make your life feel better.

Maybe it's getting back to regular bedtimes. Planning your meals. Finding where movement realistically fits into your week. Taking ten minutes to meditate. Getting outside every day. Or actually making some space in the diary for you.

The things we practise now have a chance to become second nature before autumn really arrives.

For me, apparently it starts with getting my surroundings in order. 😂

What's one thing you'd like to get back into the habit of before autumn? 🌿💜

I've been putting off writing this post because I'm still not entirely sure how to put ten years into a few paragraphs. 💜

After a lot of thought, I've made the decision that Purple Poppy Wellness will be taking a rest from October.

My last day in the Hub will be Friday 9th October.

This doesn't feel like an ending, and I'm very deliberately not calling it one. Purple Poppy has changed and grown alongside me for the last ten years, and for now, it feels right to give it some space to rest while I move into a new chapter of my own.

I'll still be here over the next couple of months, doing what I love, and appointments will continue as normal until October. I'll share all the practical bits about availability and booking separately.

There will be plenty of time for thank-yous and reminiscing before I close the Hub door, because there is absolutely no way I'm attempting ten years' worth of that in one post. 🥹😂

For now, I just wanted you to hear it from me.

Purple Poppy isn't gone. She's just entering a different season. 🌿💜

✨ Something new is coming to the Purple Poppy Hub this September! ✨

I’m really pleased to share that Marie Martin Counselling will be joining us at the Hub for a couple of weeks in September, offering Brainspotting sessions here in Beith. 💜

Marie will be using the Hub on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3rd–18th September, bringing an opportunity to try something a little different, right here locally.

Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that Marie uses to support people with things such as difficult emotions, cravings, traumatic experiences and feeling stuck in patterns that can be hard to shift.

I’m always delighted when the Hub can be used to bring different wellbeing and therapeutic options into our wee community, so I’m excited to have Marie working from the space. 🥰

Have a look at Marie’s graphic for more information, and if this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please get in touch with Marie directly to find out more or arrange a session.

And of course, feel free to share with anyone you think might benefit. 💜

Just a little update as we approach the school holidays...

My daytime appointments have now all been taken, but I still have 2 evening appointments available before the end of term.

There are also 2 spaces remaining on next Saturday's special post-Solstice meditation and wellbeing session, where we'll take some time to reflect on the first half of the year and set intentions for the months ahead.

Details of July's therapy availability and meditation sessions will be shared next week to help everyone plan their self-care around summer holidays, family adventures and all the other things that seem to fill the calendar at this time of year.

Here's hoping the sun gets the memo and decides to join us! ☀️

One of my favourite memories from last year's Summer Solstice gathering.

At first there was a little hesitation.
Then the rhythm took over.
Then came this smile.

I love this photo because it reminds me that joy often appears the moment we stop worrying about how we look and simply allow ourselves to join in.

The Summer Solstice isn't really about rituals or traditions for me.

It's about connection.

Connection to nature. Connection to ourselves. Connection to one another.

And sometimes connection looks exactly like this.
