Seasonal Reset Retreat at The Merchant Hotel ✨

✨ There’s something special about creating space for people to simply BE.

Last night I had the pleasure of facilitating a beautiful sound bath as part of a retreat giving everyone the opportunity to slow down, switch off and reconnect with themselves 💛

I absolutely love bringing sound into retreat spaces. Watching the energy in the room soften as people finally give themselves permission to stop, receive and just breathe is always so special.

So grateful to have been invited to be part of such a beautiful evening. 🌿

My diary for the next fortnight looks like a typo 🙏

Lately, my work has been pulling me in a completely new direction. I'm spending a lot more time out in the community, working with completely different groups of people.

On Monday I was running an aromatherapy workshop for a women's group in East Belfast. Today I'm packing up the bowls to facilitate a sound bath for a retreat in The Merchant Hotel. Then in two weeks, I'm taking 9D Breathwork over to Ibiza.

A while ago, not having a strict plan would have freaked me out. When you build a business from scratch, you get very used to gripping the steering wheel tightly. You think you have to control every single step.

But I'm learning to just go with the flow.

I'm trusting that I'm exactly where I'm meant to be right now. The opportunities coming up are brilliant, and I'm so grateful for the variety of people I get to share my work with.

Healing isn't like buying a t-shirt. Everybody is at a different stage, and sometimes you just have to meet people where they are.

✨ WE’RE A FINALIST ✨

Six years ago, I could never have imagined I would be writing this post.
In the middle of a pandemic I took a huge risk and completely changed direction in my career.
I set up my spare bedroom as a little treatment room and started with one treatment. Reflexology.
No big plan and no idea where it would lead. From there, I kept learning, growing and moving forward.

I quickly outgrew the spare room and moved into a cabin in my garden. Then came my first commercial premises with a few treatment rooms and I gave the space a name that meant so much to me.

ASHA meaning HOPE 💛

After going through a very difficult period in my own life, I had found hope again. I wanted to create a space that could help other people find that hope too.
Hope that things can change.
Hope that healing is possible.

Just one year later, we had outgrown that first Asha space too.

2½ years ago, we moved into the centre we now call home. 8 rooms filled with different therapists, practitioners, classes, workshops and services.
But what means even more to me than the physical space is the community we have grown around it. 💛
A community of people coming together to heal, learn, connect, support one another and simply have somewhere they feel they belong.

Then just 10 months ago I took another leap and changed the structure of Asha to a not-for-profit Social Enterprise.
It was my way of taking the original meaning behind Asha even further. Giving back to our community and working towards making wellbeing accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances.

These last 10 months have involved a lot of learning, growth, change and stepping outside my comfort zone, but I am loving every minute of it 🙏

So to find out that Asha Wellness is a FINALIST for Best Newcomer at the Northern Ireland Social Enterprise Awards feels incredibly special 🥹✨

I could never have imagined this six years ago.

Thank you to every person who has walked through our doors supported us or simply believed in what I was trying to create.

With the kids heading back to school, we just want to remind parents and children that SPAR Cavehill Road is a Safe Place. ❤️

Last year, a lot of parents took comfort in knowing our doors were open if their children ever needed somewhere safe to go — and that continues this year.

Whether they’ve:

🚌 Missed their bus
📱 Run out of phone battery
🏪 Need somewhere safe to wait
🚗 Need a safe place to be picked up from

Our doors are open.

Just let your children know that if they ever need help, they can come into the store and speak to a member of our team. We’ll do all we can to assist them and help get them home safely.
