It’s been raining a lot in Belfast lately, which has made me think of the Temperance card. On rainy days it’s easy to just want to stay inside and not do anything. But, like the Temperance card reminds us, too much of anything can throw us off balance. Giving in to the gloom of the weather internalizes the darkness outside and brings it inside. Even in miserable conditions, you have to find a way to balance yourself out, whether that be rain or other hardships in your life. It’s easier said then done, but it means keeping yourself healthy so that when a sunny day does come, you’ll be ready for it. ☀️

It’s quite a bit slow in the shop today, so I’m just sitting by are herb shelf and fiddling with the cards. It’s close to the end of the day now, but I’m always happy to do any last minute walk-ins or take bookings for later on! 🌿

Visited Navan Fort today, or as it’s originally known, Emain Macha. It’s the place where the high kings of Ulster where originally found, and where many of the myths from the Ulster cycle take place. It seemed like a place that really well embodied the traditional, masculine energy often associated The Emperor. Overall though, it was a beauty place that really showcased the beauty of Northern Ireland. 💐👑

This isn’t directly tarot related, but it’s one of my favorite quotes from the Raven Cycle, a lovely series of books written by the creator of my first tarot deck, . It’s such a lovely quote that it’s been living on my computer background for over a year, so I thought I’d share it with all of you!

Sometimes my favorite thing about reading tarot is the way it brings people together. Today I was reading for myself in a local cafe and a barista noticed my cards. His boyfriend had the same set of cards, and it struck up a conversation. I ended up giving him a reading, and long story short, I pulled the Strength card for his future. It turned out to be just what he needed to hear, as he was working through a difficult career change to social work. What a lovely chance encounter I might never have had if it hadn’t been for tarot. ✨🦁
