September always feels like the real New Year to me. 🍂
I watched my girl’s beautiful hair disappear in to school for her first day back this week — and felt that same flutter of fresh starts that back-to-school brings, even when you’re all grown up.
So this month, I’m inviting you back to your own kind of classroom — the ones where the homework is just showing up for yourself. 🎒
Here’s what’s on in Immeasurable Minds this September:
🧘 Mindful Mornings Sangha — our daily 7.15am sit, every weekday, all month. Bring your coffee, your pyjamas, your sleepy self. £20/month.
📚 Free Monday Mindfulness with Libraries NI — a free weekly online class, every Monday 11am–12noon. All welcome, no experience needed, no cost at all.
🌿 Autumn Equinox Ceremony — Wed 23 Sept, 7.30pm online. Meditation, ritual and reflection together, marking the turning of the season.
📖 The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying: Part One (Living) — a new 10-week book club starting Tues 8 Sept, 7.30pm. Slow, unhurried, good company as we read one of the great spiritual classics together.
Whatever your version of “new pencil case energy” looks like this year — consider this your invitation back to the good stuff. ✨

Some books ask: how should we live? 🌱
This one asks it by way of a braver question. 🕯️

This autumn I’m hosting a slow, gentle book club on THE TIBETAN BOOK OF LIVING AND DYING — thirty years old and still one of the wisest, warmest books ever written about impermanence, meditation, compassion and what really matters.

🕯️ Ten Tuesday evenings, on Zoom 7.30-9.30pm
🌿 Part One: Living starting Tuesday 8 September 2026
🌊 No meditation experience needed. All faiths and none welcome.
📖 One chapter a week
💗 £150 for the full ten weeks
🧘 Half-hour meditation + small, warm discussion circle each week — no experience needed

We’ll read the book the way it’s written — Living, then Dying, then Death & Rebirth — one block at a time, so you can start with ten weeks and decide if you want to continue.

A book club about dying that’s really about living. 🌙✨

It was SOO good to be back in my spiritual home of Plum Village, France last week and introduce my little Beddy Boo to the place… She had an absolute ball with all the kids, from all over the world, who she met and played with. The last time I was there was 2019 and before that I’d been EVERY year since 2005, so this was a huge gap and let me tell you it is very different wtih kids! Much more exhuasting! But that could also have been the extreme heatwave. I know it was warm in Belfast but try adding 15 degrees on to that and imagine the heat in France - stepping of the plane was like stepping into a sauna. As part of the kids programme we had a tour of the Plum Village Happy Farm where we caught up with Mick McAvoy from Tyrone who has been living in Plum Village for almost 11 years now. Mick said it was their third heatwave since May. Some leaves on the trees were turning brown from the heat and the blackberries were shrivelling before they were ripened. But amazingly everyone keeps going. One Irish mammy with 4 kids got terrible heatstroke and another with 3 kids minded all 7 of them - warriors. I was lucky with Muhutin there to enable me to get up early and get to the morning meditations. I feel so lucky to part of this community of special people, practising the way of awareness, and we had a A LOT of fun too. They even screened the France v Spain match in the meditation hall! The sun stops at 09:24am this Sunday ☀️ Will you notice?

My wee Beddy just turned five — chicken pox delayed everything and it felt to her like her party would never come. Waiting with her got me thinking about thresholds. Those held, in-between moments just before something changes.

This Sunday is one of those moments- at exactly 09:24 BST, the sun reaches its highest point. The summer solstice. The longest day. And then the world quietly turns again towards winter.

It’s important to make moments in our life, especially when we are wee but also when we are middle aged! We can let it slip by. Or we can stop and notice.

I’ve been gathering people to mark the solstice for a few years now and every time I’m moved by the same thought — humans have been doing this for thousands of years. Standing stones, bonfires, feasts. The impulse to say I see you, sun. I’m here. Thank you is hardwired into us.

This Sunday I’m hosting my Mindful Summer Solstice Ceremony online, 9–11am BST. We gather at the exact moment it happens — sitting with where this year has brought us and what light we want to call forward.

Bring a candle, a cup of tea, a journal. Or just bring yourself — that’s entirely enough. 🕯️

What a weekend at Drumalis. 💛
Deep silence, deep nourishment, deep belonging — that’s what my retreatants reflected back to me. A few of their words:
✨ “The best retreat I’ve ever been on — and I’ve been on a few!”
✨ “Being emotionally held in a space of deep safety.”
✨ “This is exactly what I didn’t know I needed.”
✨ “A wonderful opportunity to spend time with my true self.”
Every single feedback form came back a 9 or 10 out of 10. My heart is full. I’ve posted them directly so you can get an idea, every time I offer these retreats this is the kinda feedback I get. 🙏
It’s not just down to my experience. Drumalis Retreat Centre in Larne holds something special — the sea air, the grounds, the food, the welcome — and with a group of lovely people together we created a refuge for slowing down, polyvagal practice, guided meditation, silence, and good company.
🌿 The next one is 6–8 November 2026. 🌿
This retreat sell out, the winter always does! So if it’s calling you, a £50 deposit secures your place. Check out all the details on my website, or DM me to chat.
There’s no need to run, strive or struggle. Just come and be. 💛

✨ A gentle reminder that my next book club starts in May — and there are still a few spots left!
For 10 weeks, we’ll be reading The World Exists to Set Us Free by Larry Rosenberg — a beautiful, honest exploration of what it means to live and die with full awareness.
Each Tuesday evening we’ll come together on Zoom to read, reflect, and share. No pressure, no performance — just a warm, curious community exploring these teachings together. 🌿
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to finally slow down and go deeper… this might be it. 💗
