Too many guys attach their identity to one method of ‘dieting’ or ‘training’

Truth be told, life isn’t a linear path.
Things will happen, your prioritise will shift and you’ll get busy and stressed.

Trying to carry the approach you did when you were 20 with no responsibilities into adulthood where you’ve kids, career & commitments outside of fitness will lead to burn out in most cases.

It will feel like added stress to your already hectic lifestyle.

That’s why being flexible and adapting your approach is key to sustainable results.

Standard stay high, the method changes. That’s it.
Principles are principles but how you achieve them can always shift.

When I was 17, I paid to get fitness advice from a pro.
He ruined it in one sentence.

I was obsessed with bodybuilding.
So when I heard a well-known bodybuilder was coming over for an expo. I was first through the door.

Got to speak to him in person.
Asked him everything.

He told me: “If you can’t eat six meals a day of chicken and rice for a year you can’t be a bodybuilder.”

I went home and said “f*** bodybuilding”.

Here’s what that moment taught me.
Being in shape doesn’t mean living like a monk.
We put these guys on a pedestal because they compete.

But that lifestyle isn’t for most men.
And it doesn’t have to be.
You can be in great shape, enjoy your food, be present with your family without sacrificing everything else to get there.

The old school all-or-nothing approach is dead.
What you need isn’t just more discipline.

You need a better structure.

Training is great, only change is timing.
With Grace being so young it’s unpredictable what she’ll be like day to day so I train basically when she says so😂

So much more to this story.
But the long and short of it is this,
I moved away thinking I could escape my problems,
Truth is it just exposed them even more.

That’s why I coach the way I coach.
I’ve been there, I’ve done it.
And now I help others avoid the mistakes I made.

The stuff you’re avoiding right now.

The stress you’re allowing to build up,
The standards you’re dropping,
The work you keep putting off,
Suppressing emotions.

your kids are watching all of it.
And one day it becomes their normal.

Their anxiety.
Their suppression.
Their relationship with themselves.

I know because I’ve been that guy.
Avoiding things I should have faced years earlier.
Telling myself I’d deal with it later.
Later always costs more.

And someone else always pays it.
Do the work now.
Get your house in order.
Not for you.
For them.

Sorry folks, had to be said.

End of the day, standards matter.
You can’t take a drug that will give you better standards.
You can’t take a drug that will cook for you, make choices for you, make you go to the gym or behave better on a daily basis.

That comes through transformation and work.

Stop avoiding the work.

Most men think showing up is enough to get serious results.
It’s not.
I’ve trained fellas who’ve been in the gym for years.
Decent shape. A bit of muscle. Nothing to be embarrassed about.
But nowhere near the standard they should be
for the time they’ve put in.
And every single time it’s the same story.

No real structure.
No intention behind the sessions.
Just showing up and going through the motions.

Presence without purpose is just wasted time.
The gym rewards intentional training.
Not attendance.
