Business Services Organisation (BSO) Information Technology Services (ITS) were delighted to welcome Mike Farrar, Permanent Secretary to the Department of Health to James House last month.

Mr Farrar, Senior Executives from Digital Health and Care Northern Ireland (DHCNI) and BSO Chair, Sharon O’Connor met with ITS Senior Management Team to learn more about the services and support ITS provide to Health and Social Care (HSC) across Northern Ireland.
Following the presentations, all attendees took some time to meet with staff to learn more about their work.

The day was a great success, showcasing the work and portfolio of ITS and how they are Making A Difference across HSC.

JOB SUMMARY
The postholder will supervise and participate in the provision of the full range of Payrolling activities for the HSC ensuring a responsive and high-quality services at all times. This will include operation and inputting to the HR, Payroll and Travel system to ensure that management information is accurate and using this information to ensure that all activity is progressing in a timely manner, identifying any delays or blockages and taking remedial action to resolve issues arising. In addition, the postholder will be expected to ensure clarity of communications with managers and employees, particularly on issues of concern arising from Payroll queries.

Payroll ensure that employees across the HSC are paid effectively and efficiently.

They provide a vital function that supports the efficient running of the HSC. The team’s work includes:
• Processing new starters and leavers
• Processing timesheets
• Uploads of enhancements from Electronic Rosters
• Family Leave and Sickness payments
• Responding to employee queries
