Busy venues need steady medical cover.

As the sun starts showing up and the summer calendar begins to build, bars, beer gardens, outdoor terraces and live music venues tend to get a whole lot busier.

More people on site. Longer days. Alcohol flowing. Bigger crowds. A few more moving parts for managers, door teams and event organisers to keep an eye on.

Good medical cover helps take some of that pressure off.

Paragon Healthcare Services provides professional medical cover across Northern Ireland for venues and events where safety, welfare and quick response matter. From smaller venue-based events through to larger outdoor set-ups, we can work with you to make sure the right level of support is in place.

Our teams arrive prepared, equipped and ready to respond calmly if someone becomes unwell, needs assessment, or requires further medical support.

If your venue is planning day events, summer sessions or busier weekends over the months ahead, now is a good time to get medical cover arranged.

Get in touch and we can talk through what your venue may need.

For clinicians at the sharp end of resuscitation

Advanced Life Support is specialist training for healthcare professionals who need to recognise deterioration, deliver effective adult CPR and work clearly within a clinical emergency team.

Resuscitation Council UK’s eALS course combines one day of e-learning with one full day of face-to-face practical learning, bringing the core knowledge into simulations, workshops and skill stations.

Across the course, candidates develop the knowledge and skills required to:

• Recognise and manage the deteriorating patient using a structured ABCDE approach
• Deliver standardised adult CPR
• Manage cardiac arrest as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Use non-technical skills to contribute effectively as both a team member and leader

The ALS provider course is designed for healthcare professionals who need Advanced Life Support as part of their clinical duties, as well as those who teach these skills regularly.

This includes doctors, paramedics and nurses working in acute care areas such as ED, CCU, ICU, HDU, operating theatres, acute medical admissions units, resuscitation teams, medical emergency teams or Critical Care Outreach.

Applicants must hold a professional healthcare qualification, or be in training for one.

Bank Holiday weekends are a good reminder of how much goes on behind the scenes at events.

While most people are thinking about getting out, catching up, heading to a show, enjoying a family day or making the most of a bit of time off, organisers are looking at a very different list.

Crowd flow. Access points. Staffing. Weather. Timings. Welfare. Medical cover.

That last one matters more than people often realise.

Professional medical cover helps keep events running safely and gives organisers the reassurance that, if someone becomes unwell or needs support, there is a calm and capable team in place to respond.

Paragon Healthcare Services provides medical cover across Northern Ireland, supporting everything from smaller community gatherings through to larger public events. We can provide the right level of cover for the setting, with experienced medical staff, treatment facilities and ambulance support where required.

If the long weekend has reminded you that your next event is not far away, now is a good time to get the medical side properly planned.

Get in touch and we can talk through what your event may need.

Low-risk does not mean no-risk

Did you know HSE figures show hundreds of thousands of workers sustain non-fatal injuries at work each year?

That does not mean every workplace needs to feel high risk. It means the basics still matter, even in offices where the day usually runs smoothly. A fall on the stairs, someone choking at lunch, a head injury, a bleed, a colleague becoming unwell. They are the moments people never expect, but still need to be ready for.

First Aid at Work Level 3 (FAW) gives your team clear, structured training across a range of workplace first aid conditions, including CPR, bleeding, unconsciousness, choking, head injuries, sprains and strains.

Good first aid training helps staff stay calm, act appropriately, and support someone safely while further help is on the way.

If your office is reviewing first aid provision, now is a good time to get your team sorted.

Show season needs more than a good forecast 👨‍🌾👩‍🌾🩺

Agricultural shows, country fairs and rural community events bring a lot together in one place. Families, exhibitors, livestock, food vendors, machinery, marquees, car parks, uneven ground and plenty of people moving through the site from early morning.

That kind of event needs calm, organised medical cover that understands the setting.

Paragon Healthcare Services provides professional medical cover across Northern Ireland, with support scaled to suit your event. From a smaller on-site presence through to a fuller medical team with treatment facilities and ambulance support where required, we work with organisers to make sure the right level of cover is in place.

If you are planning a show, fair or rural event this year, it is worth getting medical cover arranged early so everything is clear before the gates open.

Get in touch and we can talk through what your event may need.

Advanced Life Support RCUK (eALS)

For clinicians working in acute care, emergency response or resuscitation settings, ALS is a serious bit of training. It is about recognising deterioration early, bringing structure to high-pressure situations, and working clearly within a multidisciplinary team.

Resuscitation Council UK’s eALS course combines one day of e-learning with one full day of face-to-face practical learning, using simulations, workshops and skill stations to bring the theory into clinical practice.

Face-to-face date: Friday 17 July
Time: 08:00–18:00

The course covers key ALS skills including:
• Recognising and managing the deteriorating patient using an ABCDE approach
• Delivering standardised adult CPR
• Managing cardiac arrest as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Developing non-technical skills as both a team member and leader

The ALS provider course is designed for healthcare professionals who need Advanced Life Support as part of their clinical duties, including doctors, paramedics and nurses working in acute care areas, resuscitation teams, medical emergency teams or Critical Care Outreach.

Applicants must hold a professional healthcare qualification or be in training for one.

Garden centres are heading into their busiest stretch

Spring and summer can change the pace quickly for garden centres, nurseries and outdoor retail spaces. More customers through the doors, seasonal staff joining the rota, heavier stock moving around, and outdoor areas getting busier day by day.

That mix matters. A customer can trip in the yard, someone can become unwell in the café, staff may be dealing with cuts, slips, choking incidents, or injuries from day-to-day tasks. It is the sort of environment where first aid cover quietly becomes very important.

Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (EFAW) is designed for low-risk workplaces and covers essential first aid skills including CPR, choking, bleeding and injury management.

We can deliver training on site at your premises and work around your team’s schedule, including evenings and weekends where needed. Ideal if you are bringing in seasonal staff and want everyone starting the busier months with a clear approach.

If your team needs first aid training before the season gathers pace, get in touch and we’ll talk through what suits.
