Down Leisure Centre was buzzing with activity as eight teams from across Northern Ireland gathered for a fantastic Walking Netball Tournament hosted by the Council and Netball Northern Ireland.

The event highlighted the growing popularity of this inclusive sport, with the slower-paced version of the game making it accessible for people of all ages and abilities - a great way to stay active, boost wellbeing and meet new people while enjoying the social side of sport.

🤝 The tournament built on the success of the Council's Be Active for Life Walking Netball sessions at the Downpatrick Leisure Centre. 💙

🔋Empowering young people ✅

💪Creating young leaders ✅

😁Having fun whilst doing it✅

On Tuesday, our Sports, Leadership & Arts (SLAP) programme was back in action with another fantastic session alongside our YMCA North Down cohort, proudly funded by Ards and North Down Borough Council.

The day focused on Good Relations and Social Action, encouraging young people to explore how they can positively influence their communities, challenge perceptions, and become leaders for change.
To round off the session, participants got the chance to express those ideas through an incredible Graffiti Workshop delivered by BNL Productions. It was inspiring to see so much creativity, teamwork, and confidence on display as everyone transformed their ideas into vibrant works of art.

A massive thank you to Dean from BNL Productions for delivering such an engaging and memorable workshop. Your passion and expertise made a real impact! 👏
