October is Month, so here are some interesting facts you should know about the condition!

🩵 SpinaBifida is a fault in the development of the spine and spinal cord, which leaves a gap in the spine

🩵 There are approximately 4.7million people in the world living with Spina Bifida - that’s more than double the population of Paris!

🩵 Girls are slightly more likely to be born with the condition than boys

🩵 80% of people living with Spina Bifida also have hydrocephalus

Mitchell House School are fundraising for a new multimedia system for their school hall, as part of the Cash for Kids Schools Challenge!

The system will help create a space where every pupil can learn, celebrate, communicate and participate more fully in school life.

With pupils who have a wide range of physical, communication and learning needs, the new system will support assemblies, performances, celebrations, sensory experiences, presentations and community events.

Could the right pedalling tool help unlock new mobility milestones?

We recently shared a new case series, exploring the impact of the MyWay Pedal as part of a therapy programme for children with physical disabilities.

Our third case story features Piper, a 5 year old girl with Chromosome 2q37.3 and 7q33-36.3 microdeletions (GMFCS Level V equivalent). Before trialling the MyWay Pedal, she had a standing frame and a high support anterior walker but struggled to do any active steps without help with moving her legs.
