Those aren’t our words. They’re the words of a breast surgeon who noticed a difference in the recovery of patients receiving scar therapy from Restore Therapy-trained practitioner Cathryn Bishop and other students of scar tissue massage education .
Scar Rehab Clinic uses restore training techniques as part of their toolbox of skills, treatments and techniques to improve the quality of scars and help clients live life beyond their scars. The surgeon told Cathryn:
“I can tell which patients have been for scar therapy; they generally have better mobility and are more confident.”

And this is exactly why specialist scar therapy matters.

Cathryn’s journey into oncology scar therapy began after her own cancer experience. Following her Oncology Scar Specialist training with Restore Therapy, scar therapy has gone on to become the majority of her practice, supporting people recovering from breast cancer surgery and other cancer-related procedures.

Her work has now been recognised by her local NHS breast care team, leading to an invitation to speak to the oncology breast care multidisciplinary team about the role of scar therapy in post-surgical recovery.

4 years today… 💗
Four years ago today I was waking up for a 5-hour mastectomy, DIEP reconstruction and axillary lymph node clearance after being diagnosed with a 9 cm invasive lobular breast cancer.
Since then it’s been…
✨ Chemotherapy
✨ Radiotherapy
✨ Two years of abemaciclib
✨ Tamoxifen
✨ More appointments than I could ever count!
It’s been one incredible rollercoaster, but today I’m choosing to celebrate just how far I’ve come.
Cancer took a lot, but it also taught me to appreciate the ordinary, celebrate the milestones, and never take good health for granted.
To everyone who’s walking their own cancer journey – whether you’re at the beginning, in the middle, beyond treatment, supporting someone you love, or remembering someone special – this one’s for you. Keep going. There is hope, there is strength, and there is life beyond cancer. 💕
Here’s to four years of healing, growing, laughing, living… and making every day count. 🥂

💕 These words mean more than you’ll ever know…

Every scar tells a story.

Being trusted to walk alongside someone through their healing journey is something I never take for granted. Whether it’s after burns, cancer surgery, trauma or other life-changing events, it’s a privilege to support people as they regain comfort, confidence and function.

Recently I’ve received some beautiful handwritten cards from clients, and I wanted to share just a couple of them 💕

✨ “I’ve really felt a difference after all the work you’ve done… it’s made such a positive impact on my healing journey.”

It’s moments like these that remind me why Scar Rehab Clinic exists.

Fantastic opportunity.

☀️ Scar Rehab Clinic is relaxing in the Bank Holiday sunshine today… and I’m taking a moment to think about everyone whose lives have been touched by cancer.

This time last year I stopped my Abemaciclib medication after two years and honestly I hoped the side effects would pack their bags and leave immediately… but apparently nobody told my fingers, toes or hair. 😅

The infected fingers and grumpy toes have definitely tested my patience (the toes are still refusing their public debut 👀😂)… BUT… I think my hair may finally be attempting a comeback tour.

Is it thicker?
Is it fluff?
Is it determination?
Who knows… but we’re celebrating every rebellious little strand. ☀️💛

Cancer treatment changes so much about how we look and feel, but recovery is rarely a straight line. Sometimes progress looks like strength, sometimes it looks like rest… and sometimes it looks like a few brave hairs deciding to rejoin the party.

Here’s to healing, humour, sunshine and staying optimistic — one tiny victory at a time. ✨

Still ……………………follicularly challenged over here 🤷‍♀️

Yes, there’s been some growth… but let’s be honest — it’s sparse, thin, and a bit… well… pathetic 😅

It’s nearly 4 years since I found the lump
and over 3 years since finishing chemo…

So… where is my hair?! 👀

I know Abemaciclib for 2 years didn’t exactly help matters… but honestly — is this it?!

And don’t even get me started on the eyebrows… still MIA 🙈

BUT… I’ve set myself a little summer goal ☀️

👉 If things are still the same 4 years on from my mastectomy…
I’m going bold (literally 😄) — a short crop and some very fabulous new brows

And for that…
✨ Marcia… I’m relying on you! ✨

🌿 International Women’s Day 🌿

Every scar tells a story.

Many of the women I meet through Scar Rehab Clinic have faced surgery, cancer, burns, trauma or illness. Their scars represent survival, healing and strength.

Scar therapy isn’t about hiding scars.
It’s about restoring comfort, movement, confidence and helping people live life beyond their scars.

Today we celebrate the resilience of women everywhere.
