👏 20 YEARS IN BUSINESS – AND WHY WE BELIEVE GOOD COMPETITION DESERVES RECOGNITION!
At Prestige Stairlifts, we’re incredibly proud to be celebrating 20 years in business, helping people maintain their independence across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and beyond.
Over those two decades, we’ve seen companies come and go, new businesses enter the market and the stairlift industry change considerably.
But one thing we’ve always believed is that healthy competition is a good thing.
It keeps businesses on their toes, encourages higher standards and, most importantly, benefits the customer.
However, we’re becoming increasingly concerned about the number of sales and lead-generation websites appearing within our industry.
Some of these businesses present themselves as established stairlift specialists, using aggressive sales techniques to secure orders, only to subcontract installations and aftercare to independent operators.
Subcontracting itself isn’t necessarily a problem, but when accountability, technical expertise and ongoing customer support are lacking, it’s the customer who can ultimately suffer.
And when you’re purchasing a stairlift, often at a vulnerable time in your life, the last thing you need is a hard sell followed by poor aftercare.
That’s why we believe it’s important to highlight businesses that have demonstrated professionalism, experience and consistently good workmanship.

Over the years, we’ve come across installations carried out by other companies, and when we’ve encountered work completed by these businesses, we’ve been impressed by the quality of workmanship and attention to detail.
They have established histories within the industry, and we believe that experience and reputation count for a great deal.
We’re not afraid to recommend or compliment a competitor. Quite the opposite!
We believe mutual respect goes a long way, and there’s more than enough room in this industry for reputable businesses that genuinely care about their customers.
At Prestige Stairlifts, we pride ourselves on employing our own engineers, carrying out our installations in-house and providing ongoing service and support directly to our customers.
No passing customers from pillar to post. No disappearing once the sale has been made.
Just a genuine commitment to doing the job properly and being there when our customers need us.
Our advice to anyone considering purchasing a stairlift is simple:

✅ Look at its trading history and genuine customer reviews.
✅ Ask who will actually be installing your stairlift.
✅ Find out who will be responsible for servicing, breakdowns and warranty support.
✅ Remember that the cheapest quote isn’t always the best long-term value.
A stairlift isn’t just a sale. It’s someone’s independence, safety and quality of life.
After 20 years in business, we know that reputation isn’t built overnight. It’s earned through years of looking after customers and standing behind your work.
