A bit of a long post but please read! 😜🙏
Reflexology is definitely one of the most empowering holistic tools I have ever encountered ✨️🙏✨️
The human body is a magnificent machine! Thousands of parts all working together to keep our body functioning at optimum levels.
But unfortunately our bodies are susceptible to lifestyle, diet and medical conditions that throw the body out of sync.
I want to talk about how reflexology can support our hormone balance...
Our hormones can be out of balance for many reasons and at different points throughout our lives.
During a reflexology session I focus on the endocrine and nervous system when helping my clients support their hormones. I particularly focus on glands, such as the pituitary, thyroid, adrenals and ovaries and then the solar plexus, brain/head and spinal cord (nervous system).
Stress is, without doubt, the biggest culprit when it comes to messing with our hormones, and indeed most of the systems within our body. Remember stress is not all negative! Stress helps us achieve/perform and experience. But our body is only able to cope with this kind of short term stress.
Stress causes cortisol levels to increase in the body and this messes with our hormone receptors that are supposed to be busy responding to the other hormones we need for our bodies to remain in balance and harmony...
So how can reflexology help reduce stress and support hormonal equilibrium?
By calming the nervous system, reflexology lowers cortisol levels. Because cortisol can disrupt the entire endocrine system, keeping it in check allows your natural hormones to stay in a healthy rhythm.
Reflexology can trigger the release of beneficial "feel-good" hormones, such as oxytocin and endorphins, promoting deep physical and emotional relaxation.
Reflexology, alongside small lifestyle changes, supports the body to return to homeostasis, by providing deep relaxation and a place to be quiet and reflective. The stress begins to melt away, and you begin to feel more in control of your own live, thoughts, and feelings, you start to sleep better, and hormones begin to rebalance ✨️🙌✨️
