🐴✨ A Very Special Visitor at Kenwith! ✨🐴

Our residents were delighted when Rusty the pony paid us a visit!

The visit brought so many smiles, laughter, and wonderful conversations. Several residents shared fond memories of their own horses, telling stories of riding, caring for them, and the special bond they had throughout their lives.

Animal visits like these are so important. They encourage social interaction, spark treasured memories, promote wellbeing, and bring comfort and joy to our residents. Seeing the excitement on everyone's faces as they met and stroked Rusty was truly heartwarming.

A huge thank you to Rusty and Star Acre Farm for creating such a memorable moment for our residents. We can't wait for the next visit! ❤️🐴

Kenwith Castle Care Home is hosting our Big Summer Fete on Saturday 22nd August from 2pm – 4pm, and we're looking for local stall holders, crafters, makers, and small businesses to join us!

✨ A very special afternoon at Kenwith Castle ✨

Sir Peter Wright, resident at Kenwith Castle, is a British ballet teacher, choreographer, director, and former professional dancer. He is widely known for his work as Artistic Director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet, his renowned production of The Nutcracker, and for creating the Birmingham Royal Ballet School. His celebrated production of Swan Lake has been performed by the company for over 35 years.

We were delighted to arrange a surprise visit for Peter by inviting Sarah Anne Westcott Dance Studios to perform for our residents, with Peter especially in mind. The students were very excited to meet him, although understandably a little nervous ahead of their performance.

Following the performance, the students had the opportunity to sit with Peter, ask questions, and learn from his incredible experience. They were clearly in awe of his knowledge, career, and achievements.

The afternoon was truly wonderful and enjoyed by all. Peter shared:
“It was great that the care home arranged this for me and I am very thankful. The school gave a great performance, though it was difficult for me not to direct.”

✨ This week at Kenwith Castle we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming a local children’s nursery for a very special visit.

Intergenerational activities like this are so important. They bring so much joy, connection, and purpose to everyone involved. Seeing the children interact with our residents is truly heartwarming—their energy, curiosity and laughter really light up the home, and the smiles shared between the generations say it all. 💛

The children enjoyed spending time playing games, completing jigsaws, and reading alongside our residents. These simple but meaningful activities created beautiful moments of engagement, conversation and companionship.

We are already looking forward to welcoming them back again soon! 👵👶✨

We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating Easter at the home! 🐣🌼

Our residents got creative making Easter bonnets, enjoyed painting a beautiful group picture with Creative Mojo, and some also crafted their own lovely Easter baskets. 🎨🧺

On Wednesday, we held our annual Easter egg hunt, which was enjoyed by everyone—and we were very lucky with the beautiful weather! ☀️🍫

We’re also delighted to share that our balcony is now complete, with new furniture and decking, creating a safe and welcoming outdoor space for everyone to enjoy. 🌿
