That's volume loss.

As we age the corners of the mouth and marionette lines start to pull downward — you end up looking sad even when your mood is 100% fine. It's one of the most common things I see in clinic, and honestly, one of the most emotional for my patients. Nobody wants to look tired or unhappy when they're not.

This isn't about changing how you look. It's about softening that downturned shadow so your face matches how you actually feel — lifted, refreshed, like you on a good day.

Skin boosters and biostimulators build skin quality and collagen over time, but when the issue is a physical loss of support you need something that restores volume immediately and precisely. JUNE is acne awareness month so I wanted to acknowledge this and raise some awareness around the condition that effects so many people. There's so much shame wrapped up in breakouts — that they mean you're unclean, careless, have a poor diet or "should have grown out of it by now." None of that is true.

Acne is the skin's environment shifting, not a personal failing. And adult, hormonally-driven acne is incredibly common — especially through perimenopause, when so many women are caught off guard by skin that suddenly behaves like it did at 15.

The story so far...

So glad I decided to make a change in my career all those years ago. I wasn't happy. The NHS had got me down, so poorly managed and HIV services had changed dramatically. It was time to do something different. On my prescribing course there were some practitioners doing aesthetics. I had always been interested in skin and dermatology so I thought this could be a good path...

I do truly love what I do. I believe there is a lot of value in making people look and feel good about themselves. Aesthetics done well, ethically, naturally while respecting anatomy and individuality can give someone a massive boost. It's optimal self care and an investment in yourself that can have a huge positive impact on your well being. It's not saving lives but it can be very impactfull for many and that is what I love about it.

I always act professionally and ethically, remaining true to my ethos of natural from the very beginning. It doesn't suit everyone. This and being s**t on social media has meant I've possibly grown slower than some but I never stop learning. I have been quietly gaining expert knowledge and valuable experience in the background.

Those with the most followers on social media are not always the ones with the most knowledge, skill and experience to produce great injectable results.

I'm excited for the journey ahead and will not stop developing, learning and growing.
