One of the many barriers to accessing pulmonary rehabilitation can be anxiety.

"Is there parking?"
"Will I have to walk far?"
"Will I be able to find the venue?"

These are just some of the concerns patients have told us can cause worry when attending somewhere new for the first time.

With this in mind, we've created a short video showcasing our pulmonary rehabilitation venues, including parking facilities, entrances, and where to go when you arrive.

We hope this helps reduce some of the uncertainty and makes taking that first step towards pulmonary rehabilitation a little easier.

Every journey starts with a first step, and we're here to support you along the way

Whilst it's a few years old, this video from one of our neighbouring providers gives a great insight into what pulmonary rehabilitation classes look like.

Many people worry that pulmonary rehabilitation will be too strenuous, but the exercises are designed to be gentle, progressive, and completed at a pace that works for each individual. Programmes take into account other health conditions and can often be adapted to accommodate mobility limitations or ongoing pain issues, ensuring that as many people as possible can take part safely and comfortably.

Pulmonary rehabilitation is about helping you build confidence, improve fitness, and manage your lung condition in a safe and supportive environment.

πŸŽ₯ Take a look and see what you can expect from a typical pulmonary rehabilitation class.

πŸ’¨ Oxygen Equipment πŸ’¨ Portable Concentrators πŸ’¨

Oxygen equipment can play an important role in helping people with certain lung conditions stay active and manage their symptoms. However, oxygen is a prescribed treatment and is not suitable for everyone who experiences breathlessness.

There are different types of oxygen equipment available, including concentrators for use at home and portable systems for when you're out and about. The right equipment depends on your individual needs and oxygen levels.

Remember:
βœ… Use your oxygen exactly as prescribed
βœ… Keep equipment away from naked flames and heat sources
βœ… Ensure tubing is positioned safely to reduce trip hazards
βœ… Attend regular reviews to make sure your oxygen prescription remains appropriate
