September is actually one of my favourite times to think about your skin.

After summer, you may be noticing dullness, dehydration, uneven tone or changes in texture — and this is a great time to start repairing and preparing your skin for the colder months ahead.

But there isn’t one treatment that’s right for everyone.

✔️ Sometimes it’s about repairing.
✔️ Sometimes it’s about replenishing.
✔️ Sometimes it’s about collagen stimulation.
✔️ And sometimes it’s simply about maintaining a result you already love.

The important thing is choosing the treatment that makes sense for your skin and your goals.

And with the kids back at school, perhaps it’s time to put a little of that attention back on yourself.

Ready to look after your skin this September? Book your treatment and let’s get you ready for autumn and winter (link in bio)

Summer happened. You think you were pretty good with your sunscreen, then September arrives and your doctor starts asking questions.

I might sound like a broken record, but there is a reason.

I need to know how much sun exposure your skin has had over the summer, because before we start a treatment that intentionally stimulates or disrupts the skin, my priority is making sure it’s safe to do so.

Sometimes it means delaying treatment and optimising your skin first with specific skincare.

There’s a reason why you only notice bad fillers.

We notice bad results because when we look at a face that looks unusual, overly filled or disproportionate, our eye is drawn to those features. You find yourself looking again… and sometimes you can’t stop looking.

When I treat my own patients, I only use filler when I feel it can genuinely enhance their natural features and improve the overall balance of their face.

The aim isn’t for people to know you’ve had filler. It’s for them to think you look refreshed, balanced and just like yourself.

Agree?

If you have thin lips and think lip filler isn’t for you, look again.

Sometimes less really is more. The right technique can enhance your lips without changing what makes them yours — and help you feel confident about them again.

If you’ve been put off lip filler because you’re worried about looking overdone, I get you.

How do you know your skincare is actually working?

You might look in the mirror and notice your skin looks better, but gradual changes can be difficult to spot when you’re looking at your face every day.

This is where skin analysis makes a difference.

The machine allows me to capture your skin using a natural-light setting, so we can look at your skin under consistent conditions rather than simply relying on how it looks when you walk through the door.

But it also allows me to look beneath the surface using a “microscope”, so I can assess your skin in much more detail.

And that’s where it becomes really useful when we’re tracking your progress.

When we repeat your skin analysis, we can compare the images and see what has actually changed — including changes that you may not be able to see in the mirror yet.

That’s how we move from “I think my skin looks better” to actually being able to see the progress.

I generally recommend a follow-up skin analysis around 3 months after starting a new skincare routine, and then as part of a seasonal skincare review.

So if you’ve had a previous skin analysis with me, September is a great time to come back for your seasonal review, particularly after the summer heatwave.

Follow-up digital skin analysis is currently complimentary for existing patients as part of my ongoing care here in Billericay.

Because if you’re investing in your skincare, I think you should know whether it’s actually working.

Still a way to go yet… but so far, so good.

I already had good skin quality to start with, so I wasn’t expecting a dramatic transformation. I’m looking for subtle improvements — and I’m happy with my progress.

We can always add more… but we can’t take it away.

I’ve shared my Sculptra journey so far, including what happened before, during and after treatment, in my latest blog.

Read the full blog via the link in my bio, or comment “JOURNEY” and I’ll DM you the link.

If you’re considering Sculptra and want to know whether it’s right for you, you can book a consultation with me at my Billericay clinic.
